Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, - DEC 25, 2012
Bottle from brewery and consumed over Spring Revival weekend in May 2012. Also another bottle shared with friends in July 2012. Dark brown pour, small oily head. Roasty aroma, some sweetness. Taste is good - roasty porter, sweetness (chocolate? cola?). Body is quite thin so detracts a bit, and there is a bit of a sour quality - more like an old time porter taste than anything off. Good porter.

Radek Kliber (7359) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 7, 2013
Bottle 650 ml (Bourbon Barrel)
Aroma frontal brown malts, bready feel with slight alcoholic warmth. 6+
Appearance poured as murky brown with creamy off white top. 3+
Flavor and Palate : Thin bodied. Frontal tartness with brown malt base, hint of molasses. Alcohol with bourbon barrel feel on top end.

mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 28, 2012
[4587-20120706] Bottle. Wine notes with a hint of something fruity aroma. Slightly hazy, brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Smooth sweet toasted malt flavour. Medium body. Good, mild. (7/3/7/4/14) 3.5

HogTownHarry (6834) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - OCT 25, 2012
July 6, 2012 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs, mabel & tupalev. Bomber c/o tupalev. "Bourbon oak barrel one brewed over the cuckoo’s nest porter heavyweight #13." Deep ruby, slightly hazy with an average quick-diminishing tan frothy head. Smells like a light and dry porter, more a nutty and dry brown ale - not much barrel, maybe a hint of sweet vanilla (7-). Taste is a bit more barrel-y ... still has more brown ale / cola syrup character ... some warming alcohol. Thin, weakly carbonated, finishes quickly, and there’s more sweet woody barrel in the aftertaste than up front - not all that awesome.

Ontbeertaster (2362) - Ontario, CANADA - OCT 16, 2012
Bottle, pours a light black, thin head, fairly certain the bottle we had was infected, it had a strange sour finish, but the beer did come through as well. The bourbon was quite light overall, it had a bit of roast and coco. Overall, this was okay

Sammy (12201) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 5, 2012
Bourbon barrel aged that subtracts rather than adds to taste. Dark coloured body without a head. Medium mouthfeel, with astringency in the finish. A tad of smoke and roast.

blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2012
Bottle [650ml] shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o tupalev. Pours a very dark brown with a small diminishing frothy tan head. Aroma of lightly roasted dark malt and nuts. Slightly watery flavour’s the same, malty along with nuts. Average bodied. Just an O.K. Porter.

radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2012
Deep brown in colour with a very thin but lasting beige head, light patchy lacing. The aroma is of chocolate, toffee, some light roasted malt, alcohol. The flavour is sweet, light chocolate, watery, oaky, some malt, light alcohol. Watery and thin mouthfeel, small body, mild carbonation. Finishes long albeit a bit thin, oaky with some alcohol.

Nothing really special really. The bourbon barrel just thined this one out.

650ml bottle from the brewery.
Opened on July 8, 2012.
No date.

TheJester (2542) - Cavan Monaghan, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2012
650 mL bottle from the brewery. This is their "Heavyweight Series" number 13. Nice looking porter. Not much of the bourbon barrel comes through in the nose or in the taste, which is a shame. It’s a nicely constructed porter, though, with a nice malt profile. Unfortunately, the 6 months in oak failed to elevate this beer significantly.

jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 10, 2012
2012-07-06. Very dark brown body with a small but nice tan head and lace. 3+ Flavour is malty with a bit of a tangy fruity quality to the malt. Lightly toasty caramel malt. Modest aroma, small light roast tangy fruit. Average palate. Decent porter. Bottle shared by Tupalev
