At brewpub. Toffee, creamy, roasted, and slippery mouth feel. Sweet. Serving: Tap Scipio (1081) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - MAR 7, 2017
Pours brown with a thick, full, off white head that settles slowly. I really didn’t get a whole lot of aroma. I happened to find bread and toffee. The taste is sweet and a bit tart. Toffee and nuts are most prevalent, with brown sugar, bread, earthy malts, and light floral hops as flavors that are detected as well. A light toffee is the aftertaste. This is light in body, with a thin texture, and with a softer carbonation. I wasn’t a fan of this, and it strikes me as rather boring. Bif (2245) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - JAN 13, 2017
Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head and spotty lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, some caramel and bit of brown sugar. taste of roasted malt, dark fruit and bit of caramel. Mild bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Medium body, smooth with a nice toasted malt feel. Enjoyable beer. hayduke (5204) - Eureka, California, USA - JAN 4, 2017
This 12 oz bottle was sent to me by Strykzone. Thanks Dave. Pours amber to brown with a tan head and thick lacing rings. Nose is rich caramel malts with some light fruit. Medium to full in body with as almost oily mouth feel. Flavor runs to malts and the finish is sweet. Very tasty and quite enjoyable. JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - DEC 31, 2016

Pour is a dark brown with some red highlights and almost no head at all. Aroma is a decent dark fruit with some brown sugar. Flavor is more dark sugar and dark fruit with an earthy malt finish. This was a flavorful Scottish ale boarding on German dopplebock territory. vanilla, Strykzone (7356) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - OCT 3, 2016
12 ounce bottle. Deep amber brown and opaque. A beige head leaves rich lacing. The aroma is of a Scottish ale and is rich to the nose. The flavor is also authentic and classic. A sweet maltiness. Sweet toffee and a dry bitterness seems to be an Americanization. Some fruit and a little floral, too. Toast and bread, almost fruit cake. vyvvy (6468) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - SEP 5, 2016
The beer pours brown with a beige head. The aroma has toffee, brown sugar, toast, candy and smoothness. It has a medium body with fairly soft carbonation. The taste mirrors the aims pretty much and is pretty decent. Homer321 (5071) - Melboring, Florida, USA - AUG 2, 2016
Draft at source. Light smokey and stable flavors toffee and faint roast. Taste follows but overall seems to lack the malt complexity and mouthfeel of a Scottish export. A touch thin. bnokk (535) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 12, 2016
APPEARANCE- dark copper color. A bit hazy and light head with good lacing.
NOSE- strong malt, littlest bitterness possible. Some kind of root beer scent to it.
FLAVOR- kind of bland. A bit of maltiness, but no other strong flavors.
