Bottle 2014 vintage. Pours a deep black with a brown ring. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, chocolate. It also slightly smoky and spicy. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, molasses and grapes. It feels boozy and rather hard to drink. A sipper.

Poured from bottle to glass. Opaque hue with brown head. Aroma is great with plum, raisins, leather, figs, cocoa. Mouthfeel is great with a full body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout with a nice bitter following and sweet finish. Overall this beer is great!

Bottle thanks to FX. Black pour with thick brown head. Aroma is boozy, really roasty, winey notes, nutty aroma, not as powerful as many imperial stouts, but also seems more complex. Taste is sweet nutty flavors, chocolaty, roasty, light coffee notes, winey. Palate is full bodied with good carbonation. Nice is.

Bottle (22 oz). Vintage 2013. Shared by Fux, thanks! Pitch black with a small beige head and little lacing. Aroma is really winey (not sour though) and quite decadent because it smells like a dark chocolate and dark fruits cake with roasted malt/coffee, vanilla and light spiciness. Taste is also of a fruit cake with a nice winey presence and it’s also very similar to a fruitcake combined to a decadent brownies. There’s also notes of vanilla, hints of spiciness with a warming finish. Full bodied. Low carbonation. Mouthfeel is somewhat winey, but also oily. This is a really decadent RIS. Rich, complex and tasty. The balance isn’t bad all. Nice fruitiness.

THX!!! to fux. 2013 Vintage. Pours an oily black with only some mocha bubbles on the side as a head. Nose is incredible, thick vanilla cake, brownies, chocolate chip cookies & cake, bourbon. Tastes like brownies, chocolate cake soaped in whiskey and rum, vanilla, very sweet, rum cake, palm sugar, melted milk chocolate, warming bourbon finish. Low carbonation, very oily. This is amazing, believe the hype.

Aged 1 yr. Pours a deep dark brown with a mocha foam head that ends up hugging my glass. The Finest Hr has a rich aroma full oak, pleasant booze, vanilla, almost chocolate milk like, mild to medium notes of roasted dark sweet malts. In tasting I noticed a nice warming heat from the alcohol, medium vanilla, mild bitterness, defined sweet caramelized malts, and chocolate. The finish had a weak lingering bitterness, a soft acidic sweet malt taste, and a minor dryness from the alcohol. Overall this was a solid beverage with a great balance of flavor and surprisingly it was very drinkable.
