I certainly enjoyed this year’s version more than the ’14 in terms of how balanced it was and how the coffee and bourbon were not overpowering. The barrel qualities are also quite nice, with many different flavors going on from chocolate to raisins.

2015 red-waxed bottle (thanks for bringing this, thebitterendaz!). The nose features a fair amount of alcohol and rich bourbon, along with lighter tones of dark chocolate fudge, faint soy sauce, charred oak, and a touch of root beer. Pours glossy black with dark coffee highlights. Thick syrupy chocolate is the dominant flavor with smooth bourbon, moderate coffee, burnt toast, light soy sauce, and a faint whisper of balsamic vinegar. Heavy body with a sticky texture and a hot finish. OK, this is damn nice, but it’s not even close to being worth the $45 bottle cost.

bottle, another brownie batter stout. Very thick, vanilla, chewy chocolate and caramel. Basically drinking brownie batter.

2011 vintage, shared with friends. Apperance: Pitch black with a brownish head. Aroma: Bourbon, Hint of chocolate and some licorice? Taste: Bourbon, Chocolate, Hint of portwine, Roasted malts. Palate: Silky smooth with a very perfect, lowish, carbonation. 4 years and still awesome. Wow!

Garlic_of_Doom (655) - SWEDEN - FEB 18, 2015
2014 bottle from a trade with Dan, thanks! Pitch black with a small espresso coloured head. Aroma has loads of bourbon followed by liquorice, dark chocolate, roasted malt and alcohol fumes. Taste has liquorice, coconut, bourbon, super dark bitter chocolate and liquor filled pralines. Full body, no doubt about that, low but still prickly carbonation, super thick and velvet smooth. After taste is quite hot, a lot of bourbon burn.
This is a beast among Imperial Stouts. Quite hot so I guess some age could do just fine.

'14 bottle. The pour is black. The aroma has a nice subtle booze and raisins, very nice. The taste is very smooth, bourbon is present and warming. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

DrewFace (969) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - JAN 9, 2015
Bottle share thanks to bytemesis. 2013. Big molasses, chocolate, lightly boozy, light oak aroma. Dark blackish pour, thick, small light brown head. Big boozy, very sweet, roasty, but astringent, oaky and finishes with lots of alcohol.
