From memory, pint pour if murky brown with a light khaki head. The nose was spices and caramel, smooth. Flavor followed, malted and caramel, chewy, with a little nutmeg and other spices.

Poured dark brown with aromas of light spice, some yeast, earth and a touch of nuts. Flavors are the same, ok brown ale, but was expecting more.

Cigar City / Green Bench Sgt. Pfeffer Brown Ale seems to be a beer that was designed for the occasional beerdrinker instead of the aficionado. Light malt aroma coming from a dark pour with a thin head. Sweet malty taste; not much complexity. Sgt. Pfeffer Brown is an average beer that might be a good introduction to craft beer for the macro drinker.

Tap at Cigar City. Cloudy brown pour. Nutty slight earthy spicy aroma. Much the same in taste. Just ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
