Pours a rich burnt umber color with a finger of mocha foam. The nose is full of chocolate roast, sweet chocolate, some bourbon barrel notes and a trace of cherry. The palate follows with a big sweet front end that is very chocolate truffle like and fades seamlessly into a cherry pie filling in the late palate. Nice little bourbon and roast notes to add to the complexity, but really just taste like a boozy chocolate covered cherry... so I say very well done ! rxeight (3046) - Illinois, USA - OCT 3, 2013
Wow, this stuff is awesome. Black pour, almost no head. Perfect blend of chocolate cherry and bourbon. By that i mean there is a lot of all 3. Almost chocolate rain levels of chocolate, plus a lot of sweet sugary cherry. Very thick and oily, not quite bcbs levels but close. This stuff is awesome, get some. jcartamdg (3409) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 26, 2013
Pours jet black, no head. Arab of big roast, chocolate, cherries. Taste is chocolate and roast up front, cherries in the finish, bourbon and vanilla. So complex, so delicious.

Bottle courtesy of a friend. Pours a nice oily black color with a tan head. Stains the glass upon swirling. Nose is big cherries, bourbon, milk chocolate, some coffe-esque bitterness, and some roasted malts. Flavor is similar with chocolate and cherry up front, coffee, milk chocolate, and big sweetness in the mid, and some roasty bitterness, cocoa, and some mild earth on the back end. Medium in body, nice mouthfeel, and bitterness that sticks around as long as the lacing on the glass. This one releases more cherry as it warms. Very nice beer that delivers on all of its promises. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 12, 2013
Holy hell this kicks ass. Deep brown pour, nice brown head. Sweet up front, some booze, toffee, cherry, oily and delicious. Great chocolate notes. Tremendous.

Bottle, thanks Chris
Poured deep brown espresso head. Taste of bourbon barrel, sweetness from dark fruit. Not enough cherry, but still a nice stout orangesol (987) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 9, 2013

A - Pours pitch black with a nice one finger tall khaki colored head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving light lace down parts of the glass.
S - Smells of strong bourbon and intense caramel malt sweetness. Cherry, chocolate and vanilla creep in as it warms up. A nice mix, maybe a touch too sweet.
T - Starts off just like the nose with the intense malt sweetness and the strong bourbon burn. Once they die down a bit of the vanilla and chocolate come in with some light hints of cherry coming in toward the end of each sip. Finish is pretty sweet with some mild heat, lingering on the palate long after the finish. I was expecting more cherry in this one, just tastes like a normal bourbon barrel stout.
M - Medium-Heavy body with moderate carbonation. Smooth feel for the most part, goes a touch watery toward the end. Not overly thick like most in the style, that said I think it needs a little more body to help it hold up all those bold flavors.
O - A nice enough stout. It has all of the flavors I look for in a bourbon barrel stout but I was expecting more cherry than I actually got. It just ended up being a regular bourbon barrel stout for the most part which is fine but not really want they were going for with this.
Aroma is dark roasted malt, cacao nibs, alcohol/bourbon, light cherry sent. Appearance is a thick black motor oil like pour, with a small light brown head and minimal lacing. Taste is heavy and sweet. Palate comes with a full body very bourbon and cherry forward. Siting in the mouth it has oily sticky texture, soft carbonation, and the alcohol becomes present as the beer warms up. A lingering semi sweet coco finish. Overall this beer meets expectations based on what is listed on the label and Cigar City’s previously released dark stouts. It is not as chocolate forward or as thick as Marshal Zhukov, instead it’s a bit thiner, letting the bourbon and cherry shine. A well crafted beer and nice special release.

Bottle tnx to daknole. Pours black brown with a small bubbly tanned head. Aroma is sweet roasted fruity bourbon vanilla chocolate. Flavor similar to aroma, fullbodied velvety chocolate a bit acidy cherries roasted nicely bitter with a longlived boozy warming aftertaste. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 3, 2013
Bottle @ Redlight Redlight in Orlando, FL... Poured dense, dark, black with a moderate forming, tan/light brown head. Some bubbly retention. Aroma had bourbon booze, toasted grains, and a big cherry bomb. Thick, sticky mouthfeel, carbonation was just right. Lots of sweetness, but honestly not too bad with the alcohol heat. And the cherry notes were up front and super flavorful. Candied malt notes, cocoa, simple syrup, oak, and loads of bourbon on this one. This is tasting great now, but will probably get even better with some age.
