An imperial sweet stout brewed with cherries and cacao nibs, which is then aged in bourbon barrels. This beer is brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller our generous friend from Copenhagen, Denmark. What you have here is a modest attempt to emulate the experience of biting into a chocolate-covered cherry candy. We hope you enjoy it but you never know what youre gonna get.

1000th Beer, a collaboration between two of my favorite breweries Pours pitch black with a dark brown head and nice, sweet chocolate cherry aroma. Taste is delicious, sweet cherry and dark fruits combined with deep chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa and strong bourbon notes leading to a bourbon cherry finish. Amazing brew, great flavor and complexity while the alcohol is well hidden at 15%

In celebration of zgaiers 1000th rating, at 2:36 AM thanksgiving morning, pours a heavy thick a dark deep reddish black pour with a small head. Nose is like a piece of Godiva cheery chocolate truffle. Taste is pure chocolate cheery with whiskey notes, full of flavor and deliciously so from two great brewers. Finish is sweet chocolate cherry and sweet. Maybe life is like a great imperial stout. Quaff Score 9 / 10 intoxicating delicious stout

Bottle share at Kernel Huge thanks to Paul Unwin for muling this one. Aroma is boozy, bourbon, salted caramel, sweet fudge. Opaque black with tan head. REally viscous, big legs. Flavour is sweet oily chocolate, booze, oak, salty fudge. Flat oily sticky palte. Big bad boy of a beer.

Bottle at Tony/Jim BA Birthday Extravaganza 2013 (Western Springs, IL). Pours a deeper blackish hue, darker with some thickness in the legs. Darker blackish pour, gentle brownish red glow on the edges. Frothy light brown head atop stays as a small filmy layer, loose ring dies down, laces ok. Aromas are cocoa, lotta cherry elements, some toffee, toast, and cocoa nibs. Mellow barres some vanilla, oak, gentle warmth. Cherry really sets the pace here. Initial is firmer bodied, some sweet sticky toffee, toast, cherry puree and vanilla. Gentle cocoa, vanilla, and oak. Mellow coffee, toffee, more cherry juice and skin. Middle is a bit more spirit, caramel, oaky vanillin and spirit. Some sticky caramel, coconut, and more oak. This isnt hot but thinned a bit by the barrel, offers some rich flavors in exchange. The cherry dies out more into the backend with some sticky malts, firmer oak, some gentle pokes of spirit warmth. Finish is a bit of barrel, spirit, and warmth. Gentle toastiness, sticky malts taper out. Wow, well incorporated. Tasty stuff. A touch sweet at times but overall a very nice beer.

Tasting at Bruces Pad. Big thanks to Paul for saving me a nice nip of this. Opaque black-brown beer, no real head. Viscous palate with a little fine carbonation. Smooth sweet dark malts. Vanilla and a touch of cherry and tangy red berry fruits. There is a vague sense of Neopolitan Ice Cream here! Touch of brandy and brandy spice. Finishes smooth. Sweet and tasty.
