On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. A near clear deep deep woody-brown beer with a amazing looking beige head. The bubbles just dissolved in a amazing way. Fascinating to look at! Think this has to be the perfect looking beer. It smells light sweet with caramel, wood, malts, dates and syrup. Subtle, sweet, light vinious and really nice. It’s quite sticky with some almost burned flavors! Caramel sweet, woody, really dark but more bitter chocolate - cause it is actually somewhat bitter, with a bit of warming alcohol as well. Damn tasty! I could (but shouldn’t) drink a whole lots of this! 12.05.2012 corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 25, 2012
Draft at the brewer on 3/13/12.
Pours a dark copper, almost brown color with golden amber edges and a two finger yellowish-beige head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic spots of lace left behind.
Sweet, boozy aroma with roasted malt, zesty spice and vinous dark fruit notes. Lots of strong ethanol that overtakes everything until it warms up a bit. Underneath there is some roasted leathery malt along with some candy sugar, pepper, plum and raisin.
Medium bodied and ery similar to the aroma with a dominant sweet, boozy flavor. Lots of alcohol overpowering the other notes until it warms up considerably. The high abv is not well masked at all. After a while, some roasted malt and dark fruit flavor appears. Hits of peppery spice and candy sugar followed by chocolate malt, plum, raisin and fig. Not terrible but pretty harsh and difficult to finish. Too one dimensional with overpowering alcohol flavor. Plovmand (8482) - Helsinge, DENMARK - JUN 23, 2012

Tap at CBC, May 2012. It pours deep brown, with a red hue and thin beige head. The nose is wood, sweet fig, raisin, currant, maple syrup, varnish and alcohol warmth. The taste is rather alcoholic, dark sweet fruit, wood, varnish, cake and toffee, with alcohol warmth in the finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Perhaps a bit boozy and sweet, but enjoyable nonetheless. anders37 (26726) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 9, 2012
