Mega Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Paul for this treat. Light haze on this dark brown beer. Small pale cream coloured head. Palate is softish and slightly dry. Sweetish malts carry mild chocolate. Smooth barrel induced vanilla with mellow sweetish cognac. Dried fruits before a little spice. Pretty approachable for such a big beer.
Bottle at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours clear auburn with a fine, beige cream head. Rich toffee aroma, some ripe fruits, bread. Big sweet flavor, lots of brown sugar, toffee, bread, mellow leafy hops, toasty bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warm finish, more rich sugars, brown sugar, toffee, bread, figs. Awesome. Big and sweet but I wouldn’t say too much. Decadent. Rasmus40 (21474) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUN 24, 2016

750mL bottle, sent from Elliesbrown (thanks a lot, Zack), pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of cognac barrels, alcohol, caramel malts and dark fruits. Flavour of intensely sweet cognac barrels, caramel malt, and candied sugar. Extremely complex, accentuated by the cognac barrels, on the border of being too sweet. Remarkable stuff, but drinkable only in small quantities. jtclockwork (16857) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 23, 2015
