COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale brewed with Curacao peel.

Sometimes a lot isn’t nearly enough. For the times when a lot plus a bit more is called for we proffer the 110K+OT series. This 5th iteration is a 25 OF, 5 FG, 11% abv, 5 SRm sort of brew. If you don’t know what all that jargon means the gist of this is; it’s more than you deserve. A lot more. And a little more than that too

750ml Bottle. This brew poured a hazy dark copper like orange topped with an average (1-2 finger) light tan creamy head, which slowly receded and produced some superb sheets of sticky lacing. As for the aroma it was bold and robust of a sweet light bread malt, floral and resin hops and a chewy doughy yeast, it also possessed notes of caramel, toffee, mango, citrus (orange), a light hint of butter and a strong scent of alcohol (cognac). The taste was rather intense right off with a sweet maltiness and had a nice buttery caramel presence from the get go, but quickly become very hoppy with a bold resin flavor and a sweet fruity alcohol ending. The aftertaste was with you for a very long time preceding the swallow, with a sweet hoppy alcohol warming left behind for further enjoyment. Mouthfeel was medium in body and somewhat syrupy in texture with a medium carbonation. Overall I found this to be an Imperial IPA that was very sweet, in fact it tasted more like a Barleywine than anything else. That being said, it was a fantastic brew with a easy drinkability and a fantastic fruity hoppy taste...

Aged from late 2012. at 11% abv it should have done better. poured deep amber with thin off-white head that dissipates rapidly. on the nose its all caramel, honey-like sweetness, some toffee and unfortunately some oxidized staleness. taste is heavy malty sweetness, very boozy and significant bitterness. no trace of the curacao peel. beer is full bodied, oily textured, carbonation is medium to light, and there’s some definite astringency present. finish is long, all alcohol warmth.

Bottle @ THT July, courtesy of kermis. Most likely a very old bottle. Pours a darker golden beer with a big beige head on top. Aroma of booze, malts, some chocolate, almost like an Imperial Stout or Barley Wine. Flavor is very sweet, loads of booze and caramel and port wine touches. Defintely old. When rated according to style, this is nowhere near an IIPA, but considering age and how well it held up, this scores a bit better.

Poured a hazy reddish brown, small tan head. Aroma of a Barley Wine. Full body, flavour as the aroma, quite meaty.

Bottle shared at Dean’s Technicoloured Dream-Shorts Tasting. Pours cloudy dark amber with a cream head. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch, orange peel, cheesy old sock malt, toffee and fruits. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Light full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bomber shared at July THT courtesy of Kermis. We’re not sure how old ot is. Thin off white head. Cloudy amber pour. Light bitterness. Maybe it’s too old. It’s become more like a barley wine. Pretty decent though

Bottleshare thanks to homer. Pours a golden ruby color. Aroma is malty, hops died long ago. Taste is same, all malt. Hops died. Would like it fresh. Don’t even want to rate it. I’m Torn.

As with batch 4, in no man’s land as far as style is concerned. Not resembling any IIPA I’ve ever had, though this may have been out for a while. Kinda fruity sweet hops and malt with an odd combo of fruits (curucao) and toast and caramel. You can tell it’s hefty, but no heat. Kind of a weird one, but enjoyed."

Unclear amber of color with an off white head. An aroma of sweets, honey and malty. A flavor of citrus, spice, yeast and orange.

Deep amber color out of the bottle with a fluffy off white head. Big sweet nose with lots of dried fruit and a hint of leather. Big bready malt flavors with a rich creamy mouth feel. Flavors of raspberry, bitter orange, vanilla, honey, apricot jelly and alcohol. Some cardboard with an aged patina. Very nice, aged beer.

Deep amber. Small off white head little lacing. Big sweet malty aroma. Slight fruit and raisin. Taste is a big malt with a slight citrus fruitiness. Finishes sweet and a little warm.
