Bottle. Murky orange-brown body, thin beige head. Odd nose with notes of pear, white grape, cider, and raisin swirled in rubbery phenols. The body reminded me of Pannepot, with layered toffees and caramels, but with the weird phenolic off-flavors. Lubiere (14437) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 4, 2016
A hazed dark amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, loads of butterscotch, treacle, candy sugar, light curacao, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with candy sugar, light curacao, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. Bottle. Fritz123 (1535) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - APR 26, 2015
Bottle from CCB. Poured into a snifter at home. Cloudy brown with a small eggshell head. Aroma is dark sweet rolls, dark sweet fruits, candies, and caramel. Bottle... Pours clear and copper with a minimal, white, creamy head. The aroma furnishes caramel, dried dark fruits and minerals. Full-bodied and fatty with airy carbonation. The flavor is perfectly-balanced and presents a blend of minerals, caramel and tea biscuit. Minerally, tongue-numbing, lightly acrid finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping! glennmastrange (2957) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JAN 12, 2015
Bottle. Moderate to heavy cereal, nutty and caramel for the malt, light cooked orange for the hops, moderate dough for the yeast, with date, fig, toffee and a hint of sulfur. Head is small, fizzy, and quickly and fully diminishing. Color is murky, medium brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy, with a lively carbonation and a lightyl alcoholic finish. The flavor is just a touch flat in a few places, but this is still a tasty Belgian Ale. bytemesis (9729) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 5, 2014
Bottle, sent my way by Homer - thanks! Pours hazy hazel in color, small off-white head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is caramel and toffee up front, with cocoa, figs, and rain. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, caramel, figs, a touch of rum, spicy yeast. Lingering, kind of harsh, bitterness on the palate. Medium body. Pretty solid effort. knickskicks (1168) - - AUG 23, 2014
