Bottle. Glass. Nose is moderately malty with a note of olive juice and leather. Light oxidation, sherry and paper. Some earthy notes. Deep brown in color with a light tan head. Initially the beer shows off a very high amount of carbonation. Lots of dried fruit initially. Followed by more dark fruit with leathery and grapey notes. The extremely high carbonation is the one killer in this beer. I may have to leave it out over night and drink it flat in the morning but otherwise I am very impressed. Has held up great with age as I think this is at least 2-3 years old. teorn88 (8066) - Rimini, ITALY - MAR 5, 2015
75cl bottle from the Bottle Shop, London. It pours a cloudy darkest ruby/brown color with a huge foamy beige head that sticks around. Aroma is super sweet and boozy, with notes of raisins, dates, caramel, liquor, vanilla custard, toffee, milk chocolate. Taste is also very sweet and a tad boozy, with notes of raisins, licorice, vanilla, toffee, honey melon, ripe apricots, candy sugar. Full bodied with excessive carbonation, needs some strong swirls. Overall, packed with flavors but even half a bottle is a struggle. Sipper wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 10, 2015
Tasted on 6/2/12 from a capped 750mL bottle, thanks to Nick for sharing. Pours an opaque dark brown with a thick tan head that leaves thick, but very even lace. The nose is darkly roasted malt with some coffee, dark bread, and caramel. The flavor is quite dry with some cedar spice, coffee, and dark chocolate. The body is full with average, smooth carbonation, and a long lightly bitter dark finish. DrewFace (970) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2014
Bottle share thanks to beechner224. Huge, foamy pour, all foam. Dark brown with huge light brown head. Sweet, booZy molasses caramel and toffee aroma. More of the same in the aroma plus some roast character. Tasty. beechner224 (1024) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2014

"June ’13. Big, interesting brew. Reddish brown, big aroma and flavor of dark fruit, brown sugar, light somoke and alcohol. There is a faint tartness to the flavor that is different than the lemony astringency sometimes present in scotch ales. Bready notes on the finish as well. Lots going on in this one. Hard to get out here in the west, but i hope to try again." tricyclist (1125) - Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2014
Too sweet for me. Nose and aroma are all caramel to pair up with the dark fruit. Honestly, it’s too much for me peteinSD (1468) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 27, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, brown sugar, light roast, and caramel. Taste is sweet malt with brown sugar, light bitterness, and peat. Lingering cola sweetness. Lightly coating mouthfeel. Decent actually. brystmar (1314) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Sept 2011 bottle; bit of a gusher. Tons of brown head above a dark caramel body. Good retention. kwoeltje (2234) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - DEC 29, 2013
Smells like barrel & toasted caramel. Tons of carb, tastes and feels a bit like A&W root beer. Weird, but I kinda dig.
(bottle) dark brown with tan head. Aroma of alcohol and malt. Flavor is roast malt, scotch whiskey, some spice.
