750 ML bottle. Aroma is some smoked peat. The aroma is better than the taste. This beer tastes a lot like Chimay Blue. Strange but true. mixmasterob (1057) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 10, 2011
Very pretty pour with a thick beige head. Stuck around for days. Quite impressive. Aroma was floral, light cocoa, Belgian yeast esters, fruity. Flavors were lightly sweet, lots of Belgian yeast character, almost dubbel like. Left a lingering finish. Light bitter. Decent stuff. Bottle from Shaftie, thanks buddy! Bottle shared by a friend. Clear reddish brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of banana, caramel, toffee, peat and roast. Roasty flavor up front with lots of banana, some caramel, more banana, peat and banana in the finish. dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 29, 2011
(750ml bottle from Lueken’s). Pours dark brown, almost black with fluffy khaki head. Aroma is caramel, dark pit fruit, a touch of smoke, florals, yeast. Taste is sweet with some bitterness. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Smooth finish. Interesting scotch with some yeastiness. Decent. craftbeerdesign (2254) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - OCT 27, 2011
dark brown / light black / deep red pour with a 1+ finger beige head - sticks around for a bit with a slim lacing > … the Saison yeast strain really shines through the nose with layers of banana, spices and bright citrus notes. medium to full body - smooth > with layers of dark fruits, chocolate, cherry, orange peel, banana and cloves. sweet malts back everything up with light tart apple notes lingering. spicy finish - semi-dry with notes of tart apple, bread, banana, orange and a light spicy bitterness.

Tap at the brewery. Reddish brown pour with thin off white head. Smoky, slightly sour caramel aroma. Sweet caramel, spice, sour malty taste. Not a favorite of mine. hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 25, 2011
Draft… Pours midnight black with a small, creamy, khaki head. The nose is malty, fruity and lightly spiced with a touch of banana. Full-bodied and silky with soft carbonation. Spicy, fruity, malty flavor with moderate roastiness. Excellent balance for a Scotch and/or Farmhouse style ale. Finishes sort of lifeless, mundane and flat as many American saisons seem to do. Overall, though? A winner! redlight (2318) - Orlando, Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2011
750 @ ravenous pig Big caramel on the nose with hints of molasses and a spicy aroma. Pours dark amber brown. Sweet caramel upfront with a slight smokey flavor and a dry spicy finish. Perfect blend of the 2 styles. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 7, 2011
750 mL bottle thanks to travlr and GT2. Dark brown pour with a smallish head. Nose holds banana, mango, and grape; quite fruity, not a balance of dark fruit and malt as the style would suggest. The flavor reads with more roast, chalk, earth, and lactic cream to mix with some fruity esters that are, honestly, quite undesirable. Low to medium carbonation. Poor effort from a good brewery. edecambra (11) - Florida, USA - OCT 6, 2011
This is a funky one. Aroma is figs and peppery, yeasty spice. The body is a bit thinner than I would expect (more like Saison than Scotch ale). Plum and raisins mixed with lots of cloves on the palate.
