750ml bottle brought back from FL. Deep opaque brown-black with a massive beige head. Fruity aroma, some funky Saison undertones. Rich and bold, a lot of depth. Chocolate, caramel, fruity amber malt, spicy funky yeast tones. Great mouthfeel, soft champagne carbonation. Some champagne tones, with the alcohol clearly showing. Not unlike a Scottish Wee Heavy, but amped up..more going on. A somewhat boozy Belgian Scotch Ale. Bold and unique, quite a treat. fluffy (2472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - MAY 17, 2012
at 9%, its a little too hot of a scotch ale, more like...well...scotch. flavor is ok, a bit hoppier than i prefer. i duno. there are better scotch ales out there. jcartamdg (3516) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Pours a dark brown almost black with a two finger mocha head that disapates into a solid ring around my glass with decent lacing. Aroma is dominated by Belgian yeast, banana aroma with a bourbon, malted aroma in the back. Taste follows the nose, still dominated by the yeast. As it warms it becomes more balanced with the malt. Drinks smooth and hides alcohol well. It’s not outstanding but its good and interesting. I’m glad to have tried it!

Looks good, black and lacey. Smoke in aroma. Yeasty taste, using saison yeast. Hop bitterness right there. A big beer, interesting to drink, though how much can I drink of it?
