Cotteridge Convention III – May 2017 - Bottle share at Cotts. Many thanks! As ’Cigar City Barley Berry Jam’. Dark reddy amber, foamy light brown head, light lacing. Aroma is indeed jammy, boiled sweets, caramelised sugars. Body is a bit frothy with soft to tingly carbonation. Taste is sugary, honey, boiled sweets, jammy. I’m not a big fan. It’s just sweet. I could throw a shot of booze into some sugar and come out with something similar. Not fussed. (5-4-5-3-13=3.0) BlackHaddock (8097) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 13, 2017
Cotteridge #3: 20th May 2017, thanks Gary (Garrold) for this offering. Hazy, grubby copper body, beige topping. Victoria Plum nose, sweet plum jam in the taste. Different and interesting, would have liked a little more, my sweet tooth being taken by the brew. Scopey (16566) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 30, 2017
Bottle at Cotteridge Convention 2017. It pours cloudy reddish - brown with a thick beige head. The aroma is sweet, tangy, fruity, juicy, sweet - sour, grape, toffee and fruit compote. The taste is tangy, juicy, rather fruity, tangy grape, berry, warming alcohol, fruit cake, fig pudding, some leather, alcohol warmth and spice with a dry, tangy finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Maybe lacks a bit of depth, but I found it enjoyable nonetheless.
