dchmela (3094) - Orlando, Florida, USA - NOV 10, 2011Draft at Redlight. Pours a deep red amber with a thin off white head. Tart cherry, earthy hops and caramel sweetness in the aroma. More tartness in the taste with a big earthy hop bite. Nice dry finish.
HonusWagner (2249) - Florida, USA - SEP 28, 2011A silly beer. Just slightly above-average, malty amber ale sweetness with a weird off taste from Belgian yeast.
redlight (2319) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2011Draft @ redlight redlight. Hoppy nose, resinous with with a caramel sweetness. Pours amber with a thick white head. Earthy bitterness up front followed by a fruitiness and caramelized malts and finishes with resinous hops! Pretty good!
tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - SEP 3, 2011Draft. Pour is amber with a big yellow head. Aroma is belgian yeast, melon/grapefruit hops, clove. Taste is rich malt, belgo yeast spice, with a big citrus hop bite. Palate is medium bodied, above average carboantion, bitter finish. Bigger beer than expected. Definitely a much better version of Palm Amber but this is a style I can’t get excited about.
smith4498 (3771) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - AUG 24, 2011Growler from the brewery. Pours clear dark amber color with off white head. Doughy Belgian yeast aroma with some toasted malts and clove. Similar flavors. I’m getting some weird aftertaste that I’m not sure of. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Not really a fan of this one.
jjuf1853 (1302) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - AUG 17, 2011Growler from Cigar City tasting room. Pours an amber hue with some cloudiness. Nice amount of Belgian yeast in the aroma. Great flavor.
cakanator (452) - South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 13, 2011On tap, yet another solid offering at the source in Tampa. My palate was decently shot after everything yet somehow this one managed to slip to the end. Pours a beautiful darker amber, nice lacing too. Good amount of clove and citrus in the nose and the palate follows nicely although a bit on the heavier side. I certainly did enjoy it however the pint my father in law got would have been too much. Nice offering, hope it comes to 12oz bottles.
markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 9, 2011On draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy amber with a fluffy off-tan head. Nose is some malt, some biscuit, green banana, some esters, and some slight tropical fruit with notes of citrus hops. Flavor is a nice malty beer with some citrus hops, some esters, banana qualities and you have a nice drinking Belgian ale. Medium in body and malty and estery in the finish. As bold and complex as the man on the label.
JAF737300 (1291) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 8, 2011Pours mid amber with aromatic yeast spices. The clove drives into a very dry and bitter hop note that has a lingering finish.
beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - AUG 7, 2011Draft at CCB. Dark amber pour with a white head. Scent is yeasty, clove and ?? sugar maybe? Taste is yeasty with spice and a nice hoppy bitter finish. Very interesting and one of the best while touring Florida.
