Bottle from the brewpub drank last night with some friends. Poured a deep brown color with medium sized khaki head. Aroma is in your face bourbon, followed by vanilla, cocoa, barrel, and figs. Nose was one of the best smelling scotch beers I can remember. Taste was much of the same but a little boozey for my liking. Medium to fuller bodied. I was able to snag 2 so the next guy will be sitting for a good year or two. Still a tasty barrel aged scotch from CC. nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 4, 2013
The aroma is very boozy with wood, butterscotch, molasses, toffee, and earth. The appearance is brown with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is a bit thin. Overall a yummy beer. Palidor19 (3190) - Brandon, Florida, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Rich beer with a grand flavor of wood and deep rich malts. Strong toffee and caramel. Mild hop but focus on the malt. Super strong but well worth it

2012 bottle. Dark brown-black body, medium sized khaki head, light, frothy lacing. Nose displays an assertive bourbon character, chocolate, light peaty smoke. Flavore is moderately sweet, bourbon is pot-on without too much heat interfering from the depth of the barrel: oak, vanilla, light booze, earthy. Medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation, nice smooth finish. cbfobes (2885) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Bottle shared by drowland for our xmas eve get together, pours a very dark brown with a red hue in the liht and a thin tan head the aroma has a nice sweetness of dark malt with just a touch of bourbon coming through, the flavor has a good amount of oak on the front end with some bourbon and chocolate in the finish, nice full mouthfeel, awesome. stevencon (522) - Sarasota, Florida, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Deep dark brown pour small head. Very woody pulp aroma with sweet dark malts. Boozey. Very sweet malt a bit syrupy. Light bitterness. Wood pulp tannins. This beer tastes really good in a tasting or sipping over a long time on a cold night. rbrazell (1698) - Florida, USA - DEC 25, 2012
Wooooo #700! Draft at the brewery on Christmas day. Deep ruby pour with a white head that laces. Aroma of sweet bourbon, brown sugar, vanilla, raisins, caramel and toffee malt sweetness with a touch of smoke. Warm, caramel and brown sugar maltiness with vanilla, wood, bourbon, raisins and more dark fruits with a slight touch of chocolate. Although this was pretty fresh I didn’t find it hot at all. Maybe it’s different in bottles? Anyway I liked this a lot and I usually hate Scotch Ales. BigSound (196) - New York, USA - DEC 20, 2012
Pours dark brown with a thin short lived tan head. The nose has caramel and vanilla with some light notes of chocolate. Great flavors, very smooth feel. Caramel, sweet bourbon, nice dark malts, vanilla. Thick body, soft carbonation. Great beer.
