Poured from a 750ml bottle. Big bourbon aroma, coconut, vanilla, malty, caramel, raisin. This is big and chewy. Nice. rejtable (2890) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 25, 2013
Man, this is a huge beer! Pours cola with a light head that fades quickly to a ring. No lacing. Nose is bourbon. Aromas of dark fruit, toffee, maybe even molasses, bourbon, oak and a hint of coffee. Not sure I’m getting much out of the scotch side. Tastes are bit sweet with some limited bitterness in the background. Really sticky in he mouth. One of the best beer I’ve had in a looooong time. cbfobes (2888) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2012

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours black with tan head. Aroma of dark candy, peat, smoke and dark roasted grain. Flavor is fairly intense but balanced, malty, peat, light smoke, dark fruit, coffee, toffee, alcohol spice. Mouth feel is medium-heavy body with low-medium carbonation. Overall, solid brew!!

Pours a dark amber/chestnut brown color with a 1.5 finger beige head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Streaks of spotty lacing left behind.
Nice barrel presence in the nose with dry oak, toasted coconut, vanilla and spicy bourbon. Doesn’t overpower the base beer allowing sweet and roasted malt notes to come through. Hints of caramel, toffee, hazelnut and chocolate. Slightly smokey but not acrid or burnt smelling. Smells great!
Medium bodied with a strong barrel character that adds another layer of flavor to the base beer. Some dry oak along with silky vanilla, toasted coconut and a delicious spicy bourbon character. Although the barrel flavors are strong, they are perfectly integrated into the flavor without overpowering the base beer. Lots of excellent bourbon flavor but barely any heat making it deceptively drinkable. Underneath the barrel, there is a nice combination of sweet and roasted malt notes. Slightly smokey with hints of dark chocolate, toffee, caramel and oatmeal lingering into a somewhat dry finish. Highly recommended! TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Pours a dark brown color with lightly tan colored head. Bourbon, caramel, vanilla, oak, and some dark fruits on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with sweetness, and a bourbon warmth. Very complex. iowaherkeye (2804) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - APR 22, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 750mL bottle, 47/246. Clear deep ruby with a half finger beige head, fading to a thick ring before long. Same toffee caramel nose as the regular version with a nice bourbon backbone. Flavor adds some dried cherries and raisins with plenty of bourbon and alcohol heat. Dry finish with a fair amount of booze, bitterness at a 3. Medium body with light prickly carbonation. Better than I’d expected, but I like the regular version better. 7-3-8-4-13--3.6 Rerate, just released 2012 batch. Not all that bourbon or boozy, but most definitely present with a nice toasted coconut vanilla creme hazelnut thing going on. Good brown sugar caramel sweetness. 8-4-8-4-16--4.0 WillRunForBeer (2803) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 16, 2016

Flavor is toffee, brown bread, bourbon, vanilla, oak. Nice and smooth. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 2, 2014
Tasted on 2/8/14 from a 750mL bottle at the RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours nearly opaque dark brown with an average tan head that slowly recedes to average, uneven lace. The nose is very sweet caramel, vanilla, maple, and toffee. The flavor has a bit more balanced dryness from some toasted bitterness, but dominated by vanilla, maple, caramel, and toffee. The body is full with just below average carbonation and a long vanilla and somewhat bitter toffee.
