Thanks northopfrye! This is awesome. Pours a cola color with tan head. Aromas of vanilla, caramel. Flavors are nice sweet vanilla, butter, caramel and a boozy finish. excellent.

Bottle from Ian at the 2015 Ottawa end-of-year gathering. Very dark mahogany with a very feint beige film. Aroma was overwhelmingly sweet with lots of vanilla, scotch, bourbon, plum, caramel, toffee and raisins. Moderate+ body and mild carbonation, very sweet and almost cloying, very boozy, made me feel slightly diabetic.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 750mL bottle, 47/246. Clear deep ruby with a half finger beige head, fading to a thick ring before long. Same toffee caramel nose as the regular version with a nice bourbon backbone. Flavor adds some dried cherries and raisins with plenty of bourbon and alcohol heat. Dry finish with a fair amount of booze, bitterness at a 3. Medium body with light prickly carbonation. Better than I’d expected, but I like the regular version better. 7-3-8-4-13--3.6 Rerate, just released 2012 batch. Not all that bourbon or boozy, but most definitely present with a nice toasted coconut vanilla creme hazelnut thing going on. Good brown sugar caramel sweetness. 8-4-8-4-16--4.0

Tasted on 2/8/14 from a 750mL bottle at the RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours nearly opaque dark brown with an average tan head that slowly recedes to average, uneven lace. The nose is very sweet caramel, vanilla, maple, and toffee. The flavor has a bit more balanced dryness from some toasted bitterness, but dominated by vanilla, maple, caramel, and toffee. The body is full with just below average carbonation and a long vanilla and somewhat bitter toffee.

Man, this is a huge beer! Pours cola with a light head that fades quickly to a ring. No lacing. Nose is bourbon. Aromas of dark fruit, toffee, maybe even molasses, bourbon, oak and a hint of coffee. Not sure I’m getting much out of the scotch side. Tastes are bit sweet with some limited bitterness in the background. Really sticky in he mouth. One of the best beer I’ve had in a looooong time.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour cloudy dark copper with moderate tan head. Nose sweet caramel, toffee, raisin, plum, and hint of barrel. Taste sweet malt up front quickly transition to spicy, slight booze, and plum, raisin. Finish with again slightly boozy and spicy. Thick mouth feel.

750ml bottle shared by Chalumeaux to help celebrate the birth of my son. Big thanks, TJ! Pours deep dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, dark fruits, vanilla, bourbon, oak. Flavor is toffee, brown bread, bourbon, vanilla, oak. Nice and smooth.

Pours a cloudy brown mud, full sheet. Big bourbon, vanilla. And notes of choc. In the nose. Big bourbon notes valong with a thick chocolatey malt character and background booziness. Very nice and warming with sophisticated bourbon and malt and pretty agressive hopping.

Bottle care of Bruce at his B’day.Dark brown, murky, tan head. Nose is lots and lots of vanilla, lots and lots of lactic milkiness, creamy, oaky, old wood, bourbon sweetness. Taste is very soft. Creamy, lactic, milky, vanilla, bourbon sweet and sourness. Mainly just soft sweetness and lots of vanilla and creaminess. It’s not overwhelming like some bourbon aged stuff but it is sweet.
