Bottle shared by Countbeer. Dark brown to black color, medium sized beige head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, caramel and huge bourbon. Taste malts, sweet, again loads of bourbon, light vanilla, light toffee, caramel, wet raisins. Bourbon flavoured aftertaste with a firm bitterness to it as well. Full body, oily texture, medium but also a bit soft carbonation somehow. Very nice! Ferris (15265) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 20, 2015

Bottle at Bruce’s 30th, many thanks to jackl. It pours very dark brown with a medium tan head. The nose is wood, boozy, bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit, Christmas pudding and spice. The taste is roasted malt, caramel, sweet toffee, vanilla, toasted coconut, charcoal, fudge, bourbon, earth and chewy malt with a warming, bitter-sweet finish. Medium-full body and average carbonation. Not bad, but I can’t say I love it. Pretty sweet.

Poured a hazy dark brown color with a moderate frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Medium toasted malt, wood and earthy scotch aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy bourbon bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.

In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with, roasted coffee, bourbon barrel, licorice notes, very nice. Bottle at Ottawa Xmas gathering 2015. Drake (13726) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 12, 2009
750 mL bottle... #214/246. Courtesy of tarheels86. Pours a hazy dark brown color with not much of a head. The aroma is sublime. Caramel, toffee, leafy hops, vanilla, maple, bourbon, faint smokiness, booze and green apple. Taste is caramel, toffee, bourbon, wood, faint smoky notes, leafy hops, something faintly cheesy. Full bodied and very smooth. The regular Big Sound is a phenomenal beer but the bourbon works with this too well. This is epic. Fantastic beer. Christian (13670) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 16, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 17, 2011 Brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, bouron and vineous alcohol. Sweet and malty flavour with a slightly tart tannic note and some oak. A bit cloying in the sweetness and with notable alcohol
