750 ml bottle recently opened. I knew this one was infected years ago, but found the bottle hidden so figured why not open it up. Pours a dark reddish brown color and capped by a huge cascading of tan colored foam. The aroma shows big soured dark fruit notes with underlying toffee, caramel, chocolate, and some barrel notes. The infection has completely taken over at this point obviously. The flavor follows and shows more dark sour fruits, serious funk from the infection, some barrel notes and some lingering caramel malts. Full bodied and over carbonated that leads to a sour dark fruit and caramel finish. Hard to even really give a score here because of the infection. Essentially a drain pour at this point.

Overall very good beer, brown, sour, bomber thanks to GT2, aged for 18 months after purchase.

Opaque black beer with good size fluffy mid-tan head. Softish palate, just a tad dry. Smooth malt base with some dark character. Lovely tangy overtones. Lactose sweetness. Delicious dark rum and more tang. Touch of coca cola. Semi dry finish. Immensely drinkable. Lovely!

You can tell this would have been a fantastic beer if it weren’t infected. Still not too bad considering the sourness really takes over from it. Loved the bourbon barrel version so hopefully I can get my hands on more of that!

Infected. Has lost its malty edge and transitioning into a sour beer. Rum is tame. caramelized, quite tasty. My buddy snatched up all he could b/c he likes the infected version so much.

pours caramel brown with no head. Aroma of rum with green apples. Taste is sour. This is clearly infected but its kinda cool to taste, sour with rum notes.

Unfortunately this was infected. Love the scotch ale notes with a hint of rum, but something went wrong here.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. Drank in early December 2011.

The beer pours a very dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the rum and vanilla, with some dark fruit, chocolate and oak. The flavor is different and is showing signs of infection. There is a ton of tart dark fruit, with some chocolate, smoke, cranberry, vanilla and rum thrown in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. I wish we could have tried a non-infected version since I bet it would have been pretty tasty.

Big thanks to Adam for this bottle. Shared with friends.

Pours a nice brown, with minimal head. Smells like shit, totally infected. Smells liked crushed dreams and hope. Taste is similar, tears of orphans. This was a huge let down.
