On draft for Hunahpu Day 2012. Pours a deep brown-red with an off-white head. Nose is tart dark fruit, slight red wine, and a hint of vinegar/ acid and big bourbon notes. Flavor is similar- the character of a sour with big vanilla and bourbon. Interesting sweet and sour, but not exactly a harmonious combo. Medium in body and interesting overall. burg326 (5565) - Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Poured a deep dark brown color, aromas of currants, bourbon, acid, and dark fruits. Flavor is tart dark fruits, that get swept away quickly with the bourbon flavor. Not a fan of Seabass to begin with, but the barrel aging did make this a little better. hopscotch (11174) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2011
Draft… Pours dark brown (nearly black) with a small, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention. The aroma presents touches of oak and bourbon, but they’re muted as are all the acidic, acetic, black cherry and red wine notes that are present in un-treated Sea Bass. Full-bodied with a fatty mouthfeel and laid-back carbonation. The flavor is lightly acidic and mildly acetic, but consists mainly of caramel, toasted oak and a hint of bourbon. As with the nose, the acidic and acetic components of the base beer are almost entirely missing. Woody, sweet, lightly boozy finish. Its time spent in the bourbon barrel did nothing for this beer. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - AUG 25, 2011
On draft at Funky Buddha for Cigar City Tap Takeover. Just when I think that Sea Bass couldn’t get any better the guys at Cigar City go and do something like this and totally blow me away. This was just outstanding. Not over the top sour but just enough to make the cheeks puckers. Oaky flavors with a nice sour tart mustardy finish. Could drink this all night and not complain about a thing.
