750 ml bottle to taster at NatiFest (shared by me; thanks burgers326). Looks good; heady though! A fairly opaque dull black with mocha head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, dark chocolate, and roast, all well-balanced and robust. Tastes like it smells with a robust bust pleasant mouthfeel. Good stuff! vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JUL 20, 2014
Coffee mug. Black pour with tons of brown head. Coffee, roasted and dark malt aromas. Sweet and roasted coffee flavors, nice breakfast beer. OmegaX (1375) - Florida, USA - JUL 6, 2014
Bottle at the house. Nose is roasted malts, cocoa powder, light coffee, smoke, ash, burnt toast, a hint of soy sauce. Pours a nice oily black with a huge khaki head. Flavor is roasted malts, lactose sweetness, dirt, iron, cocoa, ash. It’s pretty good. I think this thing has a ton of flavors for the lower abv. Complex and drinkable. 750mL bottle courtesy of Homer321. It pours with a nice dark body that supports a booming head of dark mocha colored foam. It looks this had some residual yeast in the bottle and became somewhat over carbonated. The aroma offers up baker’s chocolate, chocolate candy bar, malty sweetness and dark roasted coffee. The taste is rich and smooth (albeit a bit prickly with over carbonation) where I get a pleasing load of chocolatey goodness flowing into a mix of dark roasted malts and espresso. It gets a touch tannic and minerally here and there but that’s just off in the background. The malty sweetness conspires with the roastiness and the chocolate to create an enjoyable flavor. This should be about a 3.0 but it is getting the “homer” bump. gnoff (10793) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 11, 2014

Black color, dark brown head. Coffee, green bell peppers scent. Swet, coffee taste. Coffee aftertaste, also roasted. Fizzy sort of growing mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

Not a horrible effort but it kind of misses the mark. A bit thin and not as much flavor as I was hoping for. Ferris (16270) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 6, 2014
Bottle - Dark chocolate, sweet chocolate syrup and a a bit of roast. Jet black with a brown head. Dark chocolate with a nice sweetness, quickly followed by a bitter almost burnt hit that fades quickly. Very nice and chocolaty with a light bitter and hoppy finish. djd07 (15340) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 3, 2014
Bottle thanks to Cal. Pours a very dark brown with a huge tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, chocolate, faint coffee. Medium mouthfeel with a very sweet roast, dark chocolate, and light bitterness. Good. 77ships (10770) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 23, 2014
Courtesy of Kraddel. Thanks! 750 ml. bottle split by 2 @ Barely legal tasting room. Pours black with a huge tanned head. Smells lactic with fermenting red grapes, milky, brown sugar, this doesn’t feel right to me. Tastes lactic with vanilla sugar, fermenting red grapes, sweet chocolate mouse, fermenting, roasted coffee. This feels partially nice & partially something seems really off here. Body feels like 6 % ABV. Mmmm, not sure if this is supposed to taste like this.
