One note very coffee-dominant stout, but it does that one note pretty well. Not as complex or interesting as the best coffee stouts though.

Bottle picked up from the brewery in 2016 enjoyed on a rainy day where we were sent home early from work due to to tornadoes; it just rained. Wow that’s a big stout. Pours out like engine oil and has a thick mouthfeel. Lightly sweet, molasses flavor with a hint of brown sugar. I only get a faint hint of the coffee and cacao as it warms in the finish. Was there pepper in this? I taste something akin to white pepper. Overall a big beer but the ABV is well hidden. Tasty but share the bottle.

Sample at Aficionado’s during the "Big Bad Bottle Share" on 02/10/2017. Black pour with some brown around the edges, and a medium thick light brown head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, malt and chocolate. Full-bodied with a strong coffee character and flavors of roast malt, vanilla and milk chocolate in the background. The finish is roasty with a lingering vanilla mocha aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Pitch black color, mocha head. Aroma has dark malts, green coffee beans and even some peppers. Taste starts also with the green coffee/pepper, solid sweet malt backbone, roasted coffee on the finish with a light bitterness. Really heavy body with smooth mouthfeel. Really good one with the excellent Cigar City mouthfeel.
