750 ml bottle shared with Tmoney99 and the Nine Giant crew. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small plus sized tan head that settled into a ring. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, rum barrel, dark rum, wood, molasses, coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla, big, bold flavors, full bodied, smooth mouth feel, rum adds some fruity notes to a big roasty, coffee beer.

Bottle at Solar Eclipse Part 3: The Darkest Hours. It pours opaque black with a creamy dense brown head. The aroma is huge dark malty with load of cocoa, oak, spicy rum, vanilla and coffee. Thick oily palate. The flavour is huge black malty with sweet chocolate, cocoa and vanilla. Sweet oak and light spice. Light salty finish. Absurd complexity. Awesome! Congratz on the 3K Halling!

At the whales tasting at Tom’s. Black with mocha brown head. Crazy espresso aroma - very condensed. Vanilla pod, a little bit of wood, a little bit of molasses, bittersweet melted chocolate. Tastes a little bitter coffee, coconut, vanilla, a little gunpowder, Ron Zacapa-like notes, caramel - but in a good way. Don’t remember when was the last time I gave 10 to taste. Full body, slightly fizzy, slightly alcoholic-boozy finish - but in a good way, also cocoa. This beer goes to 11.

Bottle sample at "whales" tasting, thanks DSG. Pours black with a tan head. Huge aroma of roast, coffee, cocoa, licorice, oak, rum and chocolate. Pretty sweet, very complex flavors of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, wood, dark fruits, rum, warming, finish is bitter and balanced. Full-bodied, smooth, oily and rounded mouthfeel. WOW!

Bottle shared at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks PDXAmbassador for this bottle! Beautiful black with a brown head. Amazing aroma full of coffee, dark chocolate, fudge, cocoa, coconut, some rum. Sweet flavor, amazingly rich, full of dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, cookies, fudge, caramel, coconut, vanilla, some rum, fruity note. Full-bodied, rounded, silky. Incredible. One of the best beers I’ve ever had.
