Bottle: The flavor consists of chocolate, bourbon, hints of vanilla, . It pours a dark brown a small tan head, overall not bad but probably better if I would have open it fresh when I got it.CHEERS! shigadeyo (3749) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 1, 2013

2010 Vintage ~ Bottle 183/204
12/01/2010: Cigar City Campeador Rurik Ale 2010... Aroma: Chocolate and red wine. Appearance: Flows like an explosive geyser once the cap is removed... there is brown foam everywhere! Pours a deep, dark brown color and has a huge, long-lasting, foamy brown head. Flavor: Interesting and good flavor - toasted malts, dark chocolate; berries and red wine in the middle followed by a nice finish of mild coffee, semi-sweet chocolate; moderately sweet, yet a bit dry overall. Palate: Medium-bodied with lots of carbonation. Overall: Not too bad even though it seems to be infected...
1 Ping 9.4 Fl. Oz. waxed and capped bottle (11.25% Alcohol by Vol.) shared by alexsdad06. Thanks Brad! Rating #116 for this beer.
750mL bottle, #97/204. Poured near black with a very tall dark tan head. The aroma picked up sour oak, whiskey, and funky notes with a bit of cherry and licorice too.. some vanilla, chocolate, and coffee backing.. seemed a bit of the sour side. The flavor found sour plums, licorice, and coffee on the roasty middle with tangy oak, cherry skins, and funky Brett-like notes around.. finished sour and roasty with a hit of cherry skins. Medium-plus bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. OK feel and flow, but a bit too sour. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 1, 2013
Bottle 97 vintage 2010. Thanks Jason. The beer pours to a pitch black body with a creamy tan head and superior lacing. The aroma is sour chocolate and tobacco. Flavor is chocolate syrup, oak, sour balsamic vinegar. Really rich body. Full. drowland (8827) - Georgia, USA - APR 8, 2013
Bottle during RBWG 2013. Dark brown pour with a small tan head. Rich BA aroma, raisins, coconut, fudge, caramel, and more - perhaps a touch of oxidation and apples. Tasty flavor that parallels. Glad to try it!

750mL bottle, sent from StFun (thanks a lot, Josh), pours a deep dark brown / black with a big tan head. Aroma of tart dark fruits, wild notes and some fun.k. Flavour of rich dark caramel malts, some roasted malts, and some slightly sour dark fruits. Carbonation is really lively, detracting from the complexity. Fairly well-blended, but the carbonation is too awkward and too highly carbonated. Decent stuff, but on the border of being infected. Not so great. Bottle shared at RBWG grand tasting, poured a dark black color with aromas of sweet cocoa, booze, oak, dark fruits, light vanilla, and malt. Flavors are the same with a light boozy aftertaste, another beer that I have looked for a long time and it did not dissapoint. Thanks to whoever sent this one in, it went to good use. mlunger12 (645) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 23, 2013

Rbwg! Super dark black pour brown head. Coconut wood raison and prunes. Deep malts scotch ale. Boozy warming. Rye earthyness? Good but I couldn’t drink a lot.
