COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sometimes even the most successful jai alai players need an equipment tune-up. With the pelota reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour when it hits a player’s cesta, or hand-held wicker basket, their gear will be sent to a cestero or master cesta producer to be adjusted or patched. The master Jai Alai producers at Cigar City Brewing have taken their iconic IPA recipe and punched it up with a higher ABV and an intense dry-hop regimen of Idaho 7, Amarillo, Pacifica, and Equinox hops to put a new spin on Jai Alai. Here’s to masters of their art, be it making cestas or making brilliant hop-forward beers.

Draft at Cigar City from recent notes. Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have citrus and resiny hops, caramel, pale malts, grass, decent bitterness, good, nothing really stands out though.

Draft at source. Nose is super hoppy, catty, piney, simcoe, very green. Real inviting. Taste is initially citrusy with pine. A moderate bitterness. Light alcohol warming. Very nice

8.4%ABV. Double IPA. Tapped out amber. 12 SRM. Nose is sweet and spicy. Almost like incense with perfume and jasmine. Very pleasant biscuity and toasty aroma as well. Mouthfeel is juicy and soapy. Palate has pie crusts and toasted graham cracker. There is a pleasant fruity body with hops that are resinous, sappy with a tail end that is spicy with cilantro and scallion. Finish is lingering and resinous. Goes on Favorites List!

On draft at Cajun Cafe Spring Beer, Cider, and Mead Fest 2017. Pours a somewhat hazy yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is caramel, citrus, some pine, and a hint of booze. Flavor is similar with nice malt character, nice citrus character, big body behind it, and a little booze. Medium to full in body and a nice DIPA overall.

Draft at RnH-West. Murky orange-amber. Thick, frothy beige head. Plus lacing. Nice hop bitterness, smooth, clean, and fairly dry. Some sticky malt on the close. Nice stuff.

Tap at brewery- not too much nose. Nice lacing. Good solid hopiness but flavor is a little lackluster.
