Draft at RB Best Fest: Poured a brown black with a brown head. Aroma was vanilla, chocolate, mixed malts, ton of booze. Taste was rich and full of flavors, sticky booze, chocolate, vanilla, sweet tooth. Thanks to CCB for sharing this with more than just the staff! Amazing beer. 12 oz. bottle. Inky black. Big brandy aroma. Fudge. Some molasses and brown sugar. A little bourbon. Taste is equally strong brandy. Sweet and brown sugary up front. Roasted malt and molasses. Again, not much bourbon. Heavy and sweet. Excellent. Really sweet, but enough barrel character to keep it interesting. brokensail (16696) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 6, 2016
On tap @ RateBeer Best 2016. Opaque and very dark brown in color with a khaki head. Huge vanilla, chocolate, and smores. Big toasted marshmallow, graham cracker, and molasses. There’s a lot of sweetness, though doesn’t end up being cloying. A touch of roast, oak, and whiskey. Slight fruity quality that I don’t necessarily like in this beer, but enough other things that are good with me. phaleslu (10969) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 28, 2016
Draft pour at RB Best. How dare Homer321 leave this as unrateable for so long. Worst Florida mane of all time, maybe? This beer pours a cloudy brown color with a tan head that settles into a ring. Notes of brownies, caramel, fudge, oak, vanilla, pralines, and mild roasted malts. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, roasty mouthfeel. Very nice beer. How dare Homer keep it from us. b3shine (9339) - Indiana, USA - FEB 13, 2016
Draft to taster at the Ratebeer Best festival. I originally entered this review under the original Cheers!, but just noticed that the 2015 vintage was its own entry and was what was offered at the event, so I’m changing my review accordingly. Looks good; a mostly opaque dark brownish cola with thinner dark beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of loads of oak and brandy (which I thought was cognac in my original review, although the barrels are virtually indistinguishable) with a malty bittersweet barley wine-like backbone. Tastes like it smells with a full-bodied mouthfeel and what seems like a bit of oxidation as well. Good, not great. DSG (15519) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 13, 2016
