Deep black with no head. Deep syrupy chocolaty nose featuring a lot of syrupy dark cherries. Big fat sultry body with a syrupy note of dark deep chocolate, cherry syrup and roasty tones. Too syrupy for its own good but boy, there’s a lot of good flavor there. Cherry and chocolate in wonderous harmony. Beardaxe (294) - - OCT 13, 2014
On draft at falling rock during GABF. First cold sip was disappointing. Cherry was almost nonexistent. As the beer warmed, however, it really shined. The cherry is there but subtle and never cloying. As it reached room temp, it was almost a bit sour. Oily mouthfeel and slight soy sauciness-like umami made the beer feel aged and complex. Don’t know the abv, but there was no hint of alcohol burn. Really great. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 12, 2014
Poured at Falling Rock (Denver, CO). Pours a deep blackish hue, ruby glow with firm darker body, some gentle glow. Frothy tannish head atop dies to a negligible ring, laces small. Aromas are cocoa, red fruit, cherry and toffee. Some decent roast, earthy, and caramel. Initial is firmer bodied, thick with toffee, toast, black cherry, cocoa. Some toastiness, vanillin and earth. Some sweetness, caramel and rich cherry flavors, black cherry pulp, gentle roast. Backend is dry, bitter and tart. Some roasty nib, firmer malt. Nice flavors and good flow overall. Touches of tartness, fruit, and roast. Dr_MedievAle (215) - Alabama, USA - OCT 6, 2014
on draft at Falling Rock during GABF. Aroma: caramel, marshmallow, and melting milk chocolate on the nose. Appearance: dark black with off white head. Taste: bitter dark chocolate, sweet vanilla and cherry. Palate: slick with slight carb. Smooth aftertaste. Cherry isn’t overpowering in this one, but blends nicely with the other flavors. deekyn (1459) - San Francisco, California, USA - AUG 21, 2013

Tap at Ginger Man NYC. Black pour with deep brown head that has a purple tint. Dark chocolate and black cherry on the nose with a certain woody quality. The same things can be said of the flavours. Finishes with a nice warmth. M82 (469) - Kansas, USA - MAY 16, 2013
On tap at the CCB tasting room while vacationing in Tampa late summer 2012; Awesome, extreme appearance, very dark body and head which faded to a ring; flavors and aromas of dark chocolate and coffee with cherry cleaning up and adding a punch of color; very deep, rich, and exceptionally smooth daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 2, 2013
