Only 5 gallons made!! I was lucky enough to taste some of this syrupy goodness and was BLOWN AWAY! Dark brown pour with a head that dissipated quickly. Smooth, sweet and strangely familiar tasting.... a really pleasant cherry aftertaste and a definite stickyness was felt on the lips. Bravo!! MeadMe (1694) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2010
Thanks to Zack for letting me know this one was on draft at CCB.
A: Pours nice deep vibrant red with a nice solid tan head. Pretty good retention and some lace noted.
S: Wonderful rich sweet aromas. Tons of caramel and gooey toffee. The aroma is very sweet, almost a malt overload to your senses.
T: The wood did not add much of a "woody" quality to the beer but it did change it quite a bit. The depth of sweetness is much more refined. Tons of sweet candy malt with hints of sweet fruit. I picked up a touch of vanilla, and notes of molasses and brown sugar to go along with the caramel, and toffee I picked up in the nose.
M: Feels rather full in body. Nice and sweet from start to finish but not a cloying type of sweetness. Ibrew2or3 (8913) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUL 5, 2010
On tap at CCB pouring up mahogany with thin tan head. The aroma is sweet slick malts, a bit of graininess, sweet molasses, cherry and plum dark fruitiness. The taste is sweet with sweet malts laced with ribbons of caramel, plum juice, other notes of sweet dark fruitiness and then a subdued level of woodiness into the finish. The wood notes are light and helps create a slight sense of dryness into the finish. Smooth tasty brew. They need to bottle this treatment for the masses. steelcitybrew (454) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 19, 2010
A one off Special. Only 5 gallons were produced. You can smell the cherry’s and the oak with a bit of nuts in there? pours a very dark brown with little head. The cherry aging immediately hits you with dark toffee taste. Medium mouthfeel with little stickyness. really glad i came in and got this beer.
