From old tasting notes I found. Draft at the Fruit in the Room event. Pours a dark brown almost black in color and topped with a small khaki colored head of foam. Aroma shows notes of dark chocolate, roast, caramel malts, and ample amounts of toasted coconut. Flavor follows with the dark chocolate and roast up front followed by toasted coconut and earthy hop bitterness on the back end. Medium bodied with balanced carbonation that leads to a smooth chocolate and coconut finish. Solid coconut Porter. jcartamdg (3470) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 17, 2012
on tap at fruit in the room, pours a dark brown, pretty much black with a mocha head. Heavy coconut on the nose with chocolate as well. Taste follows with huge coconut and moderate chocolate. Medium body, no booze present. the best coconut porter i’ve had markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 22, 2011
On draft at Cigar City for Fruit in the Room. Pours a dark porter brown with a white-ish head. Nose is slight roast, some chocolate, some spice, but a lot of toasted coconut. Mellow tropical coconut in the nose. Flavor is similar with some chocolate but lots of coconut and a hint of spice. Nice coconutty porter, light in body and finishing with lingering roasted coconut. burg326 (5488) - Florida, USA - AUG 22, 2011
Poured at Fruit in the Room, a dark brown color with little tan head. Aromas of coco, coconut, and malt. Tasted like a regular porter, mainly coco, earth, and malt. The coconut was in there, but way less than I hoped for and expected. OmegaX (1375) - Florida, USA - AUG 21, 2011
Fruit in the Room 2011. This one had an interesting nose with coconut sweetness mixed with earthy porter tones and some hops and light chocolate. Poured like most porters do - dark with a light brown head. Taste was pretty good but I think the coconut was overshadowed by the malts and hops. Could have benefited from more coconut but still very good and refreshing for a porter.
