Pours bright shiny, coppery orange with a small light beige head. Smells of biscuit, toffee, mild fruitiness, hints of citrus. Taste is bready, fruity, hints of sweet and hints of bitterness. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Cigar City/Coronado Not-So-Common-India Pale Ale finishes with a mild lingering bitterness. glennmastrange (2931) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - NOV 10, 2013
Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, pine and grapefruit peel for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with notes of dried cherry, wood and faint solvent. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy copper. Flavor starts slightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation and a lightly alcoholic and dry finish. An excellent IPA, the flavor could’ve been a bit more complex but it has one of the best aromas around. mverity (362) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 1, 2013
The color to this beer was perfect for a CA Common/Steam; a nice deep amber/red with a nice tan head. Head didn’t retain very long and the lacing was fairly good; however, the edges of the glass had a constant supply of bubbles that when the sun hit them sparkled an array colors (pretty cool). Aroma was muted hops and muted caramel sweetness and not much else. Taste was pretty good; think Anchor Steam mixed with Stone Levitation. Mouthfeel was crisp and light considering the style which made it refreshing for the pool side atmosphere. Enjoyable brew, but even at $6.99 I probably wouldn’t give it another try. boFNjackson (4230) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 31, 2013
Bottle purchased at CCB Brewpub (bottled 8/21/13)... Poured reddish bet with a moderate egg-shell head. Nose had some woody, earthy notes with an herbal floral tone. Thick mouthfeel, nice carbonation level. Some malt sweetness with noticeable hop flavors. Not terribly bitter which was nice. I would classify this closer to an Imperial Red than IPA. Notes of vegetal/lettuce, citrus, earthy hops, wood, and a hint of caramel. One2remeber (250) - Bucktown, Ohio, USA - OCT 26, 2013

Mild malt body, not hoppy as an IPA, resinous bitterness. Smooth. Unique, nothing explosive, but flavorful. Would buy again as a 6 pack for easy drinking with friends, not so much a bomber.
Tallahassee, Fl. - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 750 capped bottle. slightly hazy medium copper pour, thick sticky eggshell white head, nice film of lacing, Aroma has a doughy, bready aroma with some light toffee notes. Flavor is chewy with some nutty accents, a touch of pomegranate fruitiness, some light citrus bitterness, a touch of green tea, a back end of doughiness. Mouthfeel has a nice stickiness to it, A solid collaboration from two of my favorite brewers that I just happened to visit this past calendar year. . Bottle via my FLA guy and snifter enjoyed: Pours a beautiful crimson amber hie with a mostly lasting frothy head and some sheets of lace. The aroma has noticed crystal and bready malt but there is plenty of piney and grapefruit aromatics as well. Slightly spicy and earthy too. The taste is still quite malt centered and slightly sweet except for a finishing spicy and woody bite. Seem to have a little Coronado Red Devil in it’s design. It is very drinkable and would have been more so but for tad tannic (teabaggy) aftertaste.... all that said, this is nothing like what most people would call a Cali Common in any shape or form.
