On draft at Cigar City, poured a dark brown color with aromas of raisns, cinnamon, apples, and pecans. The flaovrs are the same with some heavy breadiness to it, interesting beer overall, the rasins and apples mix to make the flavors interesting, left a sweet aftertaste. jcartamdg (3471) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Pours jet black with no head. Aroma of caramel malt, apple cinnamon with raisins in the back. Taste follows, a lot going on here, very tasty and very complex. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 15, 2012
Sample provided by Jason, cheers, my man! Pours a deep caramel amber with an off-white head. Nose is cinnamon, raisins, apples, and some deep caramel with a hint of lager. Flavor follows the nose with some nice malt, some apple, cinnamon, and raisin rounding it out. The raisins blend into the malt profile of the doppelbock, but make the whole beer shine all the brighter. Light to medium in body and nice overall. OmegaX (1375) - Florida, USA - DEC 14, 2012
Best doppelbock I’ve ever had by far. Nose is tons of cinnamon and apple over a fat malty backbone. Pour is dark, dark brown - almost black. Flavor is spot on with tons of cinnamon, apple, a malt bomb of caramel/bready tones and a raisin sweetness. Very nice offering. Chipalsa (1310) - Florida, USA - DEC 14, 2012
UPDATED: APR 19, 2013 This beer was NUTS!!! The body was a VERY deep red with somewhat of a head. The aroma... apple pie and Raisinets! The taste was superb, lots of rich malty raisin goodness with tons of apple and cinnamon, like M&M trail mix on LSD. Nuttiness made for a perfect finish. You need to try this!
