32 oz fliptop growler from fishingnet. Thanks, Ben! Pours a deep inky black with good thickness. Dark brown head is a nice layer, dies to a firm ring and laces ok. Loose layer laces ok, opaque body with some brownish edges. Deep and dark. Aromas are coffee, espresso, vanilla, and cream. Cocoa mixing dark and milk chocolate, caramel, lactose and firm roasty coffee elements still are hanging tough after a few months. Desserty rich espresso, vanilla, and cream. Cocoa, roast. Wow, desserty. Initial is firmly bodied, heavier end of medium with good firm coffee, espresso, and roasty malts. Cocoa, lactose, and creamy sweet silky body. Sweet Cubano coffee, caramel, toffee. Toasty middle, roasty and dry, some earth. Bigger lactose and vanilla, milk sugars. Roasty and coffee elements into the backend, Cubano coffee, roasty cocoa and earth. Silky and sweet overall. A big sweet concoction with richer sweet flavors overall, big and bold and sticky at times, bigger Espresso feel, the flavors are on. Good hedonistic value, big and flavorful, but it’d be tough to drink more than a snifter. This woulda been cool to see barrel time to cover up the bigger lactose edge that really sweetens this puppy up. NobleSquirrel (3438) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Growler shared by Adam, thanks! More of an imperial sweet stout. Pours black with a dark brown head. Nose is a big hit of coffee. Sweetness in the nose, lactose and chocolate. Rich. On tasting, it has a residual sweetness that kind of subsides. Earthy coffee and rich cocoa round this one out. Somewhat one dimensional overall but it works here. Big sweet stout with a drying coffee finish. Really nice. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2012
1 liter growler thanks to Adam for sharing this guy... Pours a deeper dark black cola with deeper auburn edges and topped with a thin wispy film of khaki head... Not the freshest coffee scent but still rendering a breakfast stout quality which is nice with a sweet character chocolate focus to balance things out. Nice... Flavors are more of the same with a continued focus on coffee to a lesser extent and more of a sweet stout focus that becomes a bit too saccharine to a point. Fuller bodied with a light level of carbonation which fits just right. A snifter pour was just about right for this.l drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Growler, pours black with red tan head. Aroma is fragrant coffee, sweet cream, and vanilla. Flavors are very sweet, vanilla, hazelnut, some chili peppers, and long brown sugar. Thick body. Really sweet beer but a lot going on and great in small doses. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - SEP 9, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 10, 2012 Courtesy of an amazing savant brewer at Cigar City! Love it! This is an ass kicking experience. It pours very dark mahogany with a mocha looking head of foam. The aroma is ‘mother of god, hide the children’ good with a rich inviting mix of dark roasted earthy coffee beans, molasses and dark roasted malts as well as spicy black strap molasses and a hot melted box of chocolate malt balls. The taste is no different. I get huge smooth rich sweet notes of dark roasted oily coffee notes sweetened up by malts and molasses and bringing up lesser notes of dark roasted malts that toy with a light and playful level of burnt malts. To midway the rich oily dark roasted coffee notes are seemingly joined by some chocolate as it head into the finish. Holy SHIT-storm this is haboob goodness. Thanks Ben! I owe you BIG!

On tap at the Black Squirrel in DC. Black pour with one of the darkest heads I’ve seen. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, cream. Flavor is the perfect balance of sweet and bitter. Smelled amazing tasted even better. kabsetter (103) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 27, 2012
What a treat to walk in and get this barrel aged stout frest from the tap. Shamefully, I was told they only made 2 barrels, so I hope ill be lucky to get more tomorrow. Smooth, creamy and the caffeine kick a nice bonus!! Lovely brew!!
