COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We salute Don Gavino with this tart guava ale, aged in chardonnay barrels to create a balance between the sweetness of the base beer and fruit with the tartness of the lactic fermentation.

Smells great - funky and fruity. Very sweet and fruity. Nice beer to share but I would have a hard time drinking more than a pint

Bottle shared thanks to scotchzi! Pours a hazy golden brown with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is funky brett used with lactic sourness and underlying musky grapes, hint of oak and sweet fruit. Taste follows, less of the funk and more of the fruit, lingering sour, good carbonation. Wow, amazing!

Bottle from CCB. Hazy deep amber pour with a big pillowy white head that lasts and laces. Bug sour tropical fruit aroma, Chardonnay, oak, peaches, kiwi and jam. Flavor is similar but thicker with more residual sweetness throughout and more of a noticeable lactic characteristic. Medium bodied and carbonation. Nice stuff.

Appearance: Pours honey gold with a thin dense white film.

Aroma: Light guava , dank weed, wine barrel, grass..

Taste: Big Brett/ white wine. Industrial, pineapple brett. Pale dry malt. I didn’t find the base beer to be all that sweet, as mentioned in the product description. Gonna guess 7% ish on the abv..

Mouthfeel: Full bodied ,average carbonation..

Overall: Tart, refreshing, complex, aromatic. Reminded me of my early experiences with Nebraska Brewing’s barrel aged farm house beers, which is a compliment.

Bottle share thanks to DrewFace69. Pours a hazy orange with white head. Strong citrus notes. Full of grapefruit and orange. Fruity in the initial sip and quickly gets tart but nowhere near mouth puckering. This is pretty freaking solid. A well balanced sour with real fruit character.

HMOG 2014. Loved the nose on this one. Big tropical mixed fruits, guava, mango, sweet, funk. Taste was mild tart, guava, white wine, oak, tropical notes. Lovely. One of the highlights of the day for me.

Pour at WTF poured a clear golden amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of straw, citrus, barnyard funk and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry lightly tart finish. Flavors of straw, barnyard and light citrus with a crisp dry lightly tart lingering funky finish.

12/26/13. 750mL bottle shared at the QC tasting. Deep golden pour with a nice off-white head that sticks and laces well. Lots going on in the aroma, woodiness, winey aspects, funk, light tartness, guava funk, and more. Lightly tart flavor, mild wood and chard, plenty of fruity guava, melds well with the funk. Refreshing, not overwhelmingly tart or sour.
