3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: gilded orange sparkling in the sunlight with a touch of haze. Not a gusher but still very active and vibrant under a full creamy head of white. Swirls with lace.
Nose: lemon peel and lemon oils, key lime peel and key lime oils. Freshly peeled tangerines. Pulpy in the back with hints of pith and dry stringy endocarp. White pepper tickles along the edges and in the back.
Palate: lemon, white pepper, and Indian spices. Bitter rind along the edges and in the finish, lingering atop my tongue creating a thirst for more. Flavor forward with a decent chill and as it warms up, the flavor focus shifts to the back of each swallow. Earthen and musky – of the orchard in bloom.
Final Thoughts: not nearly as complex or refreshing as the grapefruit wood in the Dos Costas Oeste series from Cigar City Brewing. Good and drinkable but not very memorable.
From old notes. From 750ml bottle at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Hazy golden orange color with white head. Funky citrusy fruity aroma, hoppy, spicy, wood. Sweet and biter taste funky fruity and wood like aroma. Medium oily body with average carbonation wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 10, 2015
Tasted on 6/2/12 from a capped 750mL bottle, thanks to Nick for sharing. Pours hazy bright orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes to thin, but dense lace. The nose is spicy saison yeast, a lot of caramel malt for a saison, and citrus orange and lemon peel, a hint of floral apricot blossom. The flavor is a bit sweeter than I want from a saison, tons of apricot, honey, caramel, with the citrus and yeast spice taking a back seat. The body is full with average, stinging carbonation, and a long apricot honey and lightly spicy finish. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - JAN 28, 2015

Smells like lemon head candy. Thick foam. Sour lemon with a noticeable bitterness. Finish is slightly dry and lightly tart. Beerconnaiseur (166) - BELGIUM - JUL 19, 2014
Bottle 75cl. Flavors are a bit off. Very hazy amber - gold beer, tidy white head. Semi crisp palate, fairly dry. Malt is somewhat tripel like but not as sweet. Touch of dry wood. Rathr double than saison. Dry citrus with lemon peeping out, certainly not lemon dominant. Dry finish. Not that balanced.. Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - JUN 21, 2014
Hazy orange of color with a white head. An aroma of spice, mustard seed, lemon and weak sweets. A flavor of spice, fresh, dry and weak lemon. ICEatALAMO (1349) - Troy, Michigan, USA - MAY 31, 2014
Bottle. The pour is super carbonated. The aroma is light, a hint of lemon, just a blend of citrus. The taste is certainly over carbonated. Light an fresh though.
