Draft... Hunahpu’s Day (2011)… This beer rocks!… Pours hazy and nearly black with a small, fizzy, khaki head. The nose is a luxurious, spicy combination of ginger snaps and mocha - very much a holiday-like spice blend. Medium to full-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is sweet and spicy up front (brown sugar, ginger, mocha and turmeric); then burnt malt and mild spicy-hop bitterness kicks in to help control the sugar. Lengthy, spicy, bittersweet finish… the bitterness fades quickly, but the soft, soothing sweetness hangs out a good while. World class porter! Ibrew2or3 (8912) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 26, 2011
On tap Cigar City pouring very dark brown with light tan head. The aroma is sort of yeasty as well as a touch estery with fruity notes. It quickly heads into dark roasted malts, spicy black licorice, some spicy hops and then a sense of tropical fruit. The taste is roasty and fruity and spicy with hops. It picks up tropical fruit like hop flavor notes and then spicy hops seem to mix in with the citrus and tropical notes. Into the finish spicy and citrus like hop bitterness blend with some malt roastiness to create a fairly dry finish. I’m not sure what to think about this one. It lacks a bit of cohesion. markwise (5450) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 14, 2011
On draft for Hunahpu Day- Thanks IBrew2or3 for sharing a pour. Pours a dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is lots of porter and spice- chocolate, roast, spices- vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, and maybe some nutmeg. Flavor is lots of porter and the chai and spices stay in the background. Medium-bodied porter with lingering background spices. DialSquare (5186) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 8, 2011
On tap at the 2nd Hunahpu release. Don’t have too many specifics other than a score: xmas spices, vanilla and chocolate.

Draft @ Cigar City Hunahpu release. Pours dark brown with tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and chocolate. Similar flavors. Medium body with moderate carbonation. dchmela (3088) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2011
Tap at Redlight. Pours a reddish black. Huge cinnamon, ginger, spices aroma with hints of the porter roasty notes. Taste is similar, lots of cinnamon and ginger as well as other spices, but a much more pronounced roasted grain. While tasty, the spices seem a tad bit heavy. dimenhetfield (2554) - , Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2011
On draft for the Cigar City/Tequesta Tap Takeover at Coffee District. This beer completely blew me away. I thought that I was handed an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie by mistake. This had so much flavor and aroma of cinnamon and brown sugar. Very much like a twin brother of the ORC. A terrific beer. redlight (2325) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAY 11, 2011
draft @ redlight redlight. Cinnamon and lavender on the nose with hints of chocolate. Pours black with a thick tan head. Cardamom, lavender, with traces of anise upfront, with cinnamon and allspice in the finish, with smooth chocolate in the middle with coffee notes. Not usually a fan of spiced beers but I like this one. HOPSHUNTER (742) - Tampa, Florida, USA - APR 3, 2011
Draft @ CCB. Poured dark brown with a tan head. Spicy nose with light roast and a slight chocolate note. Medium body with a crisp mouthfeel and ample carbonation. Flavor is an interesting play between roast, citrus, and spicy notes of anise, clove, and chai. Finishes mostly dry.
