COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Cracker Cowboys of Florida were colonial-era settlers, often of Scots-Irish descent, who arrived in Florida when Spain traded their territory of La Florida to the English. The term Cracker in Florida usage relates to the whip these "cow hunters" used to herd cattle in Florida’s Palmetto Prairies. Called Quáqueros by the Spanish, these hardy and hard working Cracker Cowboys helped to shape the history of Florida, the nation’s oldest cattle raising state. We brew Florida Cracker White ale with unmalted wheat, orange peel and coriander and then ferment it with a French Saison yeast strain to give it a spicy and dry finish. Perfect for a warm day on the Palmetto Prairie.

Cloudy in appearance, mostly traditional wheat beer aroma worth a hint of orange. Coriander is overpowering to the taste, with hints of something else but you can’t identify as vanilla. Still drinkable. Tap.

Hazy gold yellow with large white head. Spicy with orange peel and coriander, dry finish. Worthy as a session beer.

Can. Cloudy light gold. Frothy white head. Aroma of lemon zest, citrus, orange, coriander, floral hops, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly tart. Medium body, chewy texture, moderate carbonation. Light clove, lemon and pineapple tastes along with biscuit and wheat. Body is thicker than a witbier should be. Easy drinking that would have improved with crispness.

12 oz can. Pours a very hazy and cloudy golden yellow color and topped by a thick, fluffy head of off white foam that shows good rentention. The foam slowly settles to a thin film and leaves sudsy lacing on the glass. The aroma shows notes of citrus orange peel, wheat, coriander, and clove to go with a toasted bread and wheat malt base. The flavor follows with some grainy wheat, citrus fruit, coriander, clove, and a touch of cracked pepper. The saison yeast dries things out and gives it a spicy touch. Light in body and smooth with ample carbonation that leads to a nice, spicy and dry finish. Easy drinking, refreshing and a really nice take on the witbier style. Perfect for the hot summer days.

Quite good for a style I don’t normally like. Looked great pale hazy thick fluffy head. Spicy and yeasty and refreshing. Nice complex feel.

Pours a pale yellow with a white head. Aromas of spice and some orange. Nothing special not my style.

August 31, 2015 - can from Knightly. Cloudy yellow pour with big head that faded quickly. Aroma was orange, grain and strong coriander. Taste was consistent with the aroma and nice spicy dry finish.

Can from a trade with Weezel, thanks Mike. Pours a hazy golden colour, fluffy white head, lots o lace. Nose is sweet, fruity, distinctly Belgian style yeast. Tastes sweet, Belgian, fruity, light. This is good stuff.

While the smell is lovely, you wouldn’t necessarily think Florida Cracker would be special going by that alone. There’s fruity yeast, bread, spices, and citrus. But the flavor. Holy shit. There’s banana, wheat malt, clove, coriander, pepper, lemon/orange zest, and candy. With summer coming to an end, it’s distressing to think how far away this beer is from me.

On tap at Leon’s. Pretty decent to style with a little more pepper and spice on the finish. Requisite banana and toasty grain flavors mid palate. Hazy yellow color with big frothy white head.
