3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can into plastic cup at the beach, not ideal but can’t beat the scene. Hazy pale golden color with white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, coriander and bready-like malt. Taste is the aroma adding specific notes of lemon, orange zest, pepper notes and some other spices I can’t pin. Light body, moderate carbonation, somewhat bitter with a dry finish. Perfect drink for this moment, tasty summer drinking.
355ml can from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours slightly cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is yeast, orange peel, coriander. Taste is orange peel, coriander and spiciness. Dry finish. Decent Wit. Rask0lnikov (1474) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 31, 2017
On tap at Brewskival 2017. Slightly earthy, malty aroma. Slightly malty, bit earthy, bit flowery taste. Really simple, light, watery witbier. ganache (6057) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 13, 2017
Sixer of cans from Canal's, where CC products have finally started to show up in numbers. Nose and mouth very strong wheat character without too much slime, strong orange peel, coriander, really a textbook wit that doesn't get too oily, also stays fresh and bright without drowning in floor cleaner or grainy coriander soup. Pour hazy pale golden with orange highlights here and there, a very soapy, very bright white head that struggles to leave any lace behind. Faint/low bitterness, semi-sweet but mostly drier than that, hint of black pepper, cracker and bread in the finish, some nice maltiness for bonus points. But really, textbook, enjoyable. Can. Cloudy honey yellow. Nice white well-lacing head. Aroma: very fruity & yeasty. Crisp & fresh. Light to medium body. Spicy taste dominated by coriander (somewhat out of balance). Fruit & yeast in the background. Light bitterness. Well-made. Yet not my kind of Witbier.

355ml can. Cloudy golden colour with a thin head. Aroma: coriander, orange peel, banana. Taste: huge hit of orange peel/zest, spices, coriander, smooth malt, vanilla, fairly sweet, light bitter dry finish. Medium body, smooth but carbonation feels quite spritzy at first. Decent wit. obguthr (6666) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - SEP 19, 2017
Coriander nose, somewhat fecal. Cloudy gold, thin head. Lemon and coriander, meringue hints. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Rumbero (87) - Miami, Florida, USA - SEP 13, 2017
Aroma: bready cereal. very citrusy, like OJ almost. sustained honey sweetness from the wheat malt. peppery-like spices.
Appearance: pours a very hazy straw color with an inch thick frothy white head that unfortunately (and longevity is expected in this style) dissipates rather quickly leaving a thin 1/8" head.
Taste: very citrusy orange juice with plenty of malt sweetness and just enough bitterness for balance only. coriander creates a peppery sensation.
Palate: the body is medium, the texture creamy, carbonation is crisp and astringency subtle. right on. Finish is long and sweet with all its citrusy glory lingering.
Overall: I like this beer a lot although the citrusy levels and spicy character are a bit more in your face than expected for the Belgian Wit category. But it works. Refreshing and delicious. Only fault is the weak head retention which is characteristic of Wits.
