25.4 oz bottle. Awesome name! Though in my case daughtermule would be more appropriate. Dark brown with tan froth. Nose is fudge, bourbon, licorice and prune. Medium to full body with a soft tang. Taste is chocolate syrup balanced beautifully by the bourbon. Touches of peanut, espresso and dark fruit but never too roasty.
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Black body. Brown head. Looks good
Nose of dark chocolate, fudge, mocha, praline, cacoa, bourbon, vanilla, sweet wood, white wood, cotton candy...
The flavour is magnificant: dark chocolate, mocha, praline, fudge, chocolate, bourbon, light vanilla, some sweet roast, some cacoa, light caramel... Tastes really good!
Aftertaste is sweet bitter, dark chocolate, fudge, mocha, malts, some wood and some sweet roast...
Low carbo, silky oily mouthfeel, full bodied.
Delicious, thick, rich, balanced.

Bottle shared by Countbeer, thanks! Opaque black color, small to average sized dark brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is heavy barrel, bourbon, raisins, dark fruits, alcohol. Taste malts, bourbon, dark fruits, wood, lightly chocolate, bourbon sweetness and lightly a soft bitterness. Oily texture, soft carbonation, medium body. Nice! gregwilsonstl (2732) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 18, 2016
Dark black. Shared w aaron. Tastes like a barleywine more than porter. Lots of bourbon. Heavily oxidized. koleminer20 (4258) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUN 10, 2016
From notes. Enjoyed this one at the Brew Crew Bash in Ann Arbor on May 21. This one was poured from a 750 mL bottle. The pour is a nice dark brown with a larger frothy tan head that roils down to a thin ring and a couple wisps of film. The aroma is big bourbon right up front. There is an excellent chocolate and sweet caramel malt that kicks in before a soft vanilla and nice oakiness really move through. It’s got an excellent depth to the nose, it’s just a little too bourbon controlled. The flavor is equal to the task. There is a lot of dark fruits to work with the roasty malts and light chocolate in the flavor. The bourbon and barrel impart a pretty hefty addition and the faint vanilla is really excellent. This one just gets better as it warms up as well. The mouth feel is also really good. It’s a touch watery, but the soft carbonation really helps this coat and hang around. The aftertaste is pretty strong on the bourbon, but the sweeter notes really help out before it finishes with a lightly bitter roastiness. Damn good imperial porter! jrob21 (3919) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 21, 2016
Sample at First Sunday. Sweet bourbon vanilla and oak flavors. Smooth. Some molasses. Super sweet syrupy flavor. Works well for a big beer. Tmoney99 (15211) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 7, 2016
Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark brown color with a medium tan frothy head that mostly lasted with very good lacing. Medium to heavy toasted dark chocolate malt and bourbon aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted dark bourbon sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded with another very good beer from this brewery. phaleslu (10957) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 6, 2016
750 ml bottle shared by alexsdad06- thanks again, Brad! Pours a deep, nearly opaque brown with a small tan head that settles into a ring and faint film. Bourbon barrels lead the way, with cocoa, coconut, vanilla, marshmallow, mild roast, caramel, and oak. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, sweet, slightly warming mouthfeel. Really nice, actually. Attractive and well-rounded from start to finish. alexsdad06 (11381) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JAN 3, 2016
750 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark chocolate, mild roast, dark fruits, bourbon vanilla, dark caramel, sticky body, solid brew. drowland (9191) - Georgia, USA - AUG 5, 2015
2/20/15. Sampled during RBWG 2015. Really gorgeous pour - black with a perfect tan head, coats the glass in lacing. Great aroma, vanilla, fudgey, oaky, light chocolate and coffee. Great flavor, smooth, silky, fudgey, vanilla, coconut, chocolate, light coffee, bourbon. Delish!
