Draught @ Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017 - Blue Sessiontillmac62 (740) - Gaffney, South Carolina, USA - AUG 3, 2017
Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, orange, grape and pine. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long citrus, orange and piney finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
COD 5/18/17. Pours a slightly hazy light amber - a bit darker than gold. World class head volume, lacing and retention.
Quite outstanding aromatic nose bursting with citra hops. Orange, pineapple and tangerine reign, in that ascending order, over a slightly sweet malt base. The base is more biscuit than bready with a soft caramel note.
Light medium body that is slightly slick and oily. Outstanding carbonation / body balance. Mid-palate effervescence is perfectly balanced to enhance flavor separation and tickle the tongue. The finish, while not rollicking, is prickly and finely bubbled.
The flavor profile is quite outstanding and makes a solid run at world class. Had the middle been slightly sweeter to provide contrast and allow the tropical notes to flourish, it would be there. This is one where flavor follows the nose - they are all there with similar potencies. They first arrive as a blend then separate in the middle. Tangerine, orange then pineapple. As the light sweetness fades, a mild bitterness develops that is like a mild orange zest. The finish is deceptively dry. Dryness really arrives during the linger - a nice brewers trick. Orange zest lingers but is subtly soft.

Pretty good pale ale. I usually find them boring but I can see myself having a few. A bit thin, but no worse than average. Citrus was present but the beer would be well balanced even without it. ChadPolenz (1827) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - JUL 26, 2017

2015 BJCP Category: 18B American Pale Ale
AROMA: Fairly strong American hops with tropical, melon and citrus fruit aromas along with slight grassy character. Malt base is evident but has no specialty character. 10/12
APPEARANCE: Rusty orange hue (9-11 SRM) over a cloudy body. Moderate white foamy head, retains and laces pretty well. 2/3
FLAVOR: Tropical fruit flavor dominates the palette. Melon and citrus fruit flavors are also present in the background. Bitterness is moderate though a tad strong for an APA. Slight grassy/spicy sensation on the second half. Malt base works as backbone, but not especially sweet nor any specialty taste. Palette overall is hop-forward, but not wildly unbalanced. No alcohol presence. 18/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium body and carbonation. Smooth texture. Quite refreshing while in the mouth, though there is a slight drying aftertaste. Easily quaffable at 5.5% ABV. Ideal for summer. 4/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: An American hophead’s pale ale. Not perfect, but pretty darn close. 9/10
TOTAL SCORE: 43/50

Growler from Growlers to Go in Short Pump, VA. The ale poured a hazy Amber color with an off white head and lacing. Wonderful citrus aroma with tropical fruit as well. Nicely balanced APA with citrus that is very easy to drink. The medium body ale has average carbonation. Some lingering bitterness after each swallow. This will be the ale for eating crabs summer 2017.
