COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional throughout Latin America, the guayabera shirt combines style, functionality, form and tradition in it’s four-pocketed design. We at Cigar City feel the same reverence and appreciation for the guayabera that we do for the Citra hop varietal, an ingredient that imparts notes of tangerine, lime and berries to this traditional American Pale Ale. The exclusive use of Citra hops in this beer creates a flavor that’s at once unique and recognizable, while it’s dry, crisp character and moderate alcohol make it as refreshing and functional as a crisp linen guayabera.

12 ounce can. Hazy medium gold color. Large frothy white head. Fragrant citrus hop nose. Notes of berry and guava. Toasted malt flavor. Hints of tangerine and lime balance the crisp maltiness. Tangy fruit finish. Dry well done.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2017 Can from JC's ... er, Super Buy Rite. Nose very full in rind, most lime and grapefruit, tangerine, but some Citra character as well. Pour started yellow-golden but accumulated to hazy-cloudy orange, sort of dusky, with a large and densely rocky white head. Taste dry with medium and very smooth bitterness, hint of tanginess, low resin with earth and low caramel, wood. Strong Citra, a little yeasty slurry, dash of paper, no real musk or spice but something from that area bringing some complexity. Drinkable, smoothish medium-full body, very nice soapy cleansing of the palate makes me think this will be great with pizza and burgers. Crisp and really tightly-defined idea executed well - a great daily pale ale. [2017.10.07: 3.7]

Eesh, after a few more cans, still a fresh palate, not doing it for me. Doesn't have the bright top-notes and accents it needs. [2017.10.08: 3.4]

12 ounce can at home. Canned on 4-25-17. Hazy deep straw like in color. Light white head with film on glass. Smell the citrus. Medium body A little heavy on the hops for a pale ale. Pretty smooth. Mellow pine after taste that lingers for a moment. This is all right for the style.

Light pine, a little citrus but not quite as sexy as Gabriel Garcia Marquez' suit when he gave his Nobel Prize speech. Tap at Snally.

Draft @ Beavertown Extravaganza'17.

Good pale ale, full of hoppy citrus rounded off by berry and pine. Mild cereal malt sweetness adds a lemondrop undertone to the orange and grapefruit notes, while the bitterness in the back end remains piney and firm without wandering into IPA territory. Creamy, easy texture makes the pint disappear posthaste, while the huge grapefruit-lemon nose presents a Citra showcase. Nice.
