COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed and fermented in Puerto Rico, dry-hopped exclusively with Simcoe hops in the shipping container back to Tampa where it was canned at Cigar City Brewing. The voyage truly makes this a Caribbean-style India Pale Ale.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy simcoe hop and small malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy earthy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. This is a good beer.

Can pours gold with white head. Nice lacing. Citrus, pine, melon, coconut,. Moderately bitter, light sweetness. Medium, creamy body. Came out the favorite in last nightís beer tasting.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Poured a slightly hazy deep orange amber with a off-white foam which formed a lasting thick ring. Simcoe. Simcoe. Simcoe. Presented strongly but not harshly. Ends are smoother and better rounded than other Simcoe centric beers I have had (i.e. read Spice of Life). Easy drinking without being soft. Great woody, dark resin notes with some dark amber fruit. An oak tree in a glass. It takes work to make such a dry hopped brew feel so effortless and I appreciate it. Great stuff!

Gimmick beer that didnít quite deliver all the way. Needs more contribution on the hops.

12oz can pours a clear orange with some foamy white head. Nose has some dried malt, some wood chips, some spice, some orange, some dried pine. Flavor is malty, spicy, sweet, a little metallic, orange, something a but artificial. Dry finish.

Growler poured a light amber color with a one finger white head that retained a thin coating. Aroma has light tropics, citrus, grass, and some light onion. Mouth feel is light with good coating and good carbonation. Flavor has big dry hops, citrus rind, tropical fruit, light bitterness, and again light onion into the finish.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with fruity esters, kiwi and mango, and citrusy floral hops, catty notes, very nice. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with smooth floral hops, light butterscotch, very nice. Sampled at TÝrst from my neighbor.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 12oz can ($2.75): Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is a whole lot of tropical fruit, bunch of citrus, with substantial malt backbone. Taste is bitter dry-hopped. Hefty malt backbone as well. Well-balanced. Quite dry. Good IPA, but Iíve had better.
