Thanks Dak for sharing this beauty. You da man! Deep black pour with a creamy tan head. Loaded with roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, hints of vanilla and wood, as well as a nice hoppy presence. Excellent brew. Glad I got to try this beauty!

Hand Bottle: The aroma consists of dark chocolate, vanilla, light coffee, and a hint of smoke. It pours a dark brown, virtually black, with no head. The flavor starts with dark chocolate, vanilla, and fruit . The finish has moderate roasted coffee, light citrus hops, and a hint of smoke. Full bodied with minimal carbonation and an oily mouthfeel.

huge thanks to daknole for the hook up on this one! 16oz swingtop growler. tasted with the base beer and the humidor series. pours a very thick black just like the base beer, with a beutiful multi layer head action. aroma has a nice amount of whiskey present, and a nice frsh hop noce not commonly found in stouts, very well balanced and not at all offensive. the taste is great, the base brew is complemented very nicely by the barrels and the addition of the hops. notes of fresh oak mix with charred malt bills and the hop profile compliments the refined taste of the blue. damn good stuff, my favorite out of the 3.

(1L Growler, courtesy of mar) Pours a black body with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted grain, anise star, citrus, brown sugar, marshmallow, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor of roasted malt, caramel, citrus, grass, and chocolate with a bitter finish. Tasty!

Thanks to Dak and Jw77 for sharing this at Askofficerfriendly’s Throwdown. Nose is roast, a bit of burnt malts, dark chocolate, earth, some sweet, and a bit of hop bite. Flavor is roasty as hell, in good company with IRIS and Zhukov, with the chocolate, hops, and bits of sweetness coming through to differentiate this one from its forebears. Flavor lingers with roast and chocolate with roast and hop bitterness into the finish. Great stour.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2011 An amazing beer. Pours a deep brown color with hints of red and purple. Slightest hint of a head with some thick, cola-like lacing. Aroma is fantastic. Huge amounts of bitter bakers chocolate and wood. Under this is a thick milk chocolate and a dose of dank hops. Under *that* is a slight burn of bourbon and sawdust. This is truly an amazing smelling beer. Flavor is bitter, with a touch of salt and a punch of meatiness. Big, thick, and creamy on the palate, so thick I want to pour this on my pancakes in the morning. Slightly oily (in a great way) on the finish. This is just an all around great beer. Huge cheers to Joey and Wayne on this one.

Hand bottle from Mar. Thanks buddy. Black pour with a dark brown head that stains the glass excellently. Aroma is bourbon, coffee, chocolate and wood. Flavor is bourbon, coffee, chocolate. Syrupy mouthfeel.

( 1L handbottle thanks to mar) Pours motor oil black with no head and coats the glass. Nose of bitter hops, meat, smoke, bourbon and wood. Taste of bourbon, tobacco, bitter hops, and dry cocoa, This has absolutely no carbonation and a pretty thin body. Disappointing compared to reviews. I think had it been carbonated I would have loved it.

Thanks to JW77 and Daknole for sharing at TPD’s throwdown in Tampa. Pours a thick black, like all Cigar City stouts. Like motor oil. Aroma is as the title exclaims, hopped up. I would love to try this side-by-side with the Batch 2 110K+OT, as that was hopped up as well. Very similar in style and taste. Another great stout. Not much to complain about.

Black pout. Aroma of sweet charcoal. Some salt air, coffee, and semi-sweet cocoa. A touch of citrus and distant smoke, like sweet BBQ. WOW! Medium sweetness, lots of chocolate flavors, some vanilla. Dark chocolate covered espresso beans, light scotch, seaweed, soy, and a touch of licorice. Finishes with a mellow roasted earthiness. Smooth, balanced. Perfect.
