Pours copper with gold edges and off white head. The aroma is citrus sweet from hops to go along with solid malt sweet enhanced floral and lavender note goodness. I was expecting the aroma to be a load of perfumy flowers but it achieves a nice balance. The taste starts with smooth lavender moving into floral and then progressively sweeter with malts and citrus hop flavor. Cedar and citrus hop bitterness even out the sweetness into the finish leaving the palate somewhat refreshed and ready for more. Alvie999 (1) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 24, 2009 does not count
32oz growler from brewery. Pours amber color with a small white head. The nose is almost fruity with lavender and very floral. Taste get the lavender and floral notes first as well as the hops and its a good balance. Definately a good twist on the original. GodOfThunder (1249) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 23, 2009
Growler, thanks to Beerlando for picking this up. Aroma is strong perfume and super floral. Naming this "Flora" is no joke. Extremely strong, almost to the point of being off-putting. The flavor, however, seems to be right on. Nothing too strong. A good amount of hops mixes with floral flavors. Taste is solid and the beer is very original. I think a little less time aging on the flowers would make this much better. They are just a little too strong in the aroma. It is still good and worth trying, though. darkguardian (733) - Florida, USA - JUN 23, 2009
32oz growler from Eric. What a ridiculous nose on this beer, one of the best smelling beers I’ve ever had. Big big lavender notes with pineapple, some definite floral notes aand a little vanilla. Body is fairly light, with only a little vanilla caramel backbone. The hops up front are quite piney with some subdued resiny quality. This is buried under rich lavender notes. Some slight flowery quality or herb notes on the backend. Again a bit of tropical fruits (pineapple seems to dominate) and a long fairly intense bitterness finishes things out. Certainly not a west coast ipa but a damn good ipa any way you cut it. Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 20, 2009
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2009 Growler. Pours a hazy, dark, orange-amber color. A small, cream colored film coats the surface, leaving micro-spots and skinny flares of lacing behind. The aroma explodes with floral intensity, dried lavender, sage, and heather making for a very Bath & Body Works-esque experience. Perfumy, soapy, floral and herbal notes are simply dominant, and while it certainly smells pleasant, it overpowers what little citrus hop resins one can extract. The flavor is a bit more subdued, some of the soapy, floral notes settling in, with the piny, citrus hops moving forward a bit, though I can’t really pull any cedar out. The finish is long, herbal, floral, and quite bitter. Medium-plus in body, balanced, and easy going on the tongue. Overall, it’s a little too soapy and floral, but it’s a solid brew nonetheless.

growler via Beerlando and Godofthunder! Incredible herbal aromas, lavender, sage, hints of basil. Pours amber golden with a thin white head. Very strong floral flavors, lavander, some sage, the cedar does shine out nicely as it warms, the finish is all hops though, piney and sticky. Good but i think i prefer the guava. Growler from CCB. Poured a hazy orange-ish amber with a thick off-white head. Aroma is extreme lavander up front, later some hops and spicy cedar notes become more apparent. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Flavor is complex but overall dominated by the lavander in my opinion to me it comes thru as soapy. All the usual Jai Alai characteristics are there. Nice! kiefdog (1826) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUN 19, 2009
32oz growler from the brewery. Pours a hazy dark amber color with reddish-orange highlights and one finger off-white head that settles quickly but laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and spicy -- almost saison like without the brett -- with notes of herbs, flowers, light floral hop, fresh cut weeds, pine, some hints of heather and lavender. Flavor is sweet and herbal with notes of lavender, light citrus, pine, fresh flowers, cedar, jasmine, caramel, some notes of bitter herbs. Generally medium body with a floral hop finish and slick mouthfeel. Really interesting beer. dchmela (3062) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 18, 2009
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2009 Sample at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange gold with a thick off white head. Huge perfumy, herbal lavender and floral hop aroma. Very unique, like a basket of flowers mixed in with some hops. Taste is smooth malt, bitter cedar and hop bite, floral lavender and heather. This is unique and complex as it gets, flavors competing and complimenting all over the place. An absolutely stunning beer. MeadMe (1661) - Fishhawk, Florida, USA - JUN 17, 2009
Sampled on tap at the brewery.
A: Pours a hazy beautiful golden hue. This one is unfiltered for sure. The head builds nice and high with good retention and lace.
S: Wonderful floral aromas. Like a garden scented perfume my grandmother may wear. Hints of spicy cedar and grapefruit push through, but the heather and lavander really shine here. That being said it is a subtle floral sweetness nothing too overbearing.
T: It is subtle in the taste as well. I have had some jasmine IPA’s that are all jasmine that is not the case here. The IPA caramel and citric qualities are still there along with hints of the cedar. The heather and lavander just peek in and out in such a nice way.
M: Medium in body, smooth.
D: Very good. I love what CCB are doing. Jasmine and Heather are a nice addition to an already solid Cedar Aged IPA.
