"maybe if i’d tried this first in the Humidor line it woulda blew me away, but the heavy cedar aroma and flavor that were so great in that first ipa are starting to get repetitive. Still good, and the stout is a big enough beer to break through a little, but the cedar spice and smokiness could be scaled back a couple notches and this could be an elite beer. As it is, it’s still very good, and unique, but several points below the base beer." budznsudz (584) - Audubon, New Jersey, USA - SEP 13, 2014
Sweet and smoky aroma with an oily glass coating consistency. Lots of complexity from the cedar. Quite a tasty brew. fluffy (2461) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - AUG 7, 2014
this was an imperial? didnt get that sort of feeling from this one. more just a standard stout. wisdomsolo (472) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - AUG 7, 2014
Had this at a fantastic tasting and had such a great time with great people and great beers! This was a pretty middle of the road stout. Nothing at all special about it. Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - JUN 19, 2014
Black of color with a brown head. An aroma of wood, cedar, liqurice and roasted malt. A flavor of roasted malt, bitter, dark chocolate, raisins, prunes, weak coal and an oily texture.

Bottle shared at Proof. Black pour with thin tan head. Aroma is roasty, dark fruit, cedar. Tastes are burnt, roasted, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, wood. Little tangy. Oily palate. Prefer the base stout. DWestrick (858) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 23, 2013
bottle. Very nice imperial stout. Hit all the right cords in what I like in an imperial stout - Not incredibely distinct but sits well on the palate. AirForceHops (8037) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 7, 2013
750 ml bottle from a trade. I don’t remember who since this bottle is nearly 2 years old. Great looking stout, thick tan head that laced the entire snifter. Nose is freshly cut mulch. Seriously, nothing but earthy wood. Dear god, is there any stout underneath all this wood? Oh wait also get tar, black pepper and tobacco. Sorry this is overwhelming. Wood and black pepper finish. Love Imperial stouts but this just really isn’t my thing. I hope the aging of this bottle did something to the wood and it took over because I just don’t see this fine brewery putting out a one dimensional brew like this. beechner224 (1024) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - NOV 29, 2013
On tap at brewery. Pitch black. Aroma is smoke, cedar, chocolate, coffee. Taste is chocolate, then cedar, then smoke. Really yummy. Smoke is there, but I don’t think too strong. Yummy. Daniel719 (144) - Safety Harbor, Florida, USA - NOV 22, 2013
This was hard to rate. Pours black with a tan head, Smells like a cigar. Had on tap. Great stout, Zhukov like. Very Smokey. One of the Smokiest beers I have had. Almost overwhelming. I couldn’t see myself drinking a full pint of this. Not because it is a bad beer but because it is so smokey.

This was hard to rate. Pours black with a tan head. Smells like a cigar. Had it on tap at the tasting room. Tastes like a cigar. Great stout, Zhukov like. Sooo Smokey though. One of the smokier beers i have had. Almost overwhelming. If you like Smokey beers and stouts you will love this beer.
