MacBoost (1936) - Victor, New York, USA - NOV 3, 2013
Bottle thanks to TheAlum. Thanks, bro! Pours an inky, thick as oil black with almost no head. Aromas of unimaginable amounts of roast, some spice and a hint of wood. I guess 2 years in the old rot box kind of dumbed down the cedar aging. Taste is an enormous amount of bitter chocolate, roasted malts and burnt down houses. So thick. The finish is longer and blacker than the black seducer. So. Much. Thickness.

Bottle with thanks to juiceisloose! Pours deep opaque black with a small deep brown head and some lacing. Aroma is roasty, coffee, cocoa, and, what is that? Oh yeah cedar and woody notes. Interesting. Flavor is the same, little sweetness here, more roasty and woody with medium bitterness. Full body with a soft, silky mouthfeel. CCB really knows how to work the palate with their impys. Nice beer, but not earth shattering.

HOly Cedar, Batman! poured like zhukov, pitch black and oily. nose was like smoking some salmon on cedar planks just a big chewy wood presence. taste was even bigger. I certainly would have to split t his one a few ways. So much cedar that it’s almost overwhelming but really refreshing overall. would love to get more of this.

750ml bottle. Rating #266. Dark inky black color with the darkest brown head that I’ve ever seen. Big aromas, light anise, raisins and molasses and roasted malts. Dark chocolate bitterness, not much hop presence with a lot of coffee in the finish with a bit of ash in the exhale. (2856)

Thick black pour, same dark tan head with red hues as other Zhukov variants. Nose is big cedar, roasted malts, sweet chocolate. Taste is the same, huge cedar. The cedar is much more prominent than in the other Humidor beers I’ve had. Smooth and sticky, medium-full bodied.

750 ml bottle shared by b3shine. Pours pitch black in color with a medium sized dark reddish tan head. The aroma was a wonderful blend of roasted malts, dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco, ash and a hint of dark fruits. The flavor has much of the same goodness presented with a silky smooth mouth feel and full body. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco, ash and some dark fruits. Top notch.

Tmoney99 (14952) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 7, 2013
Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy dark tobacco wood, roasted coffee, chocolate and alcohol aroma. Heavy toasted chocolate malt and dark tobacco flavor with a heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is one of the best standout beers.

750ml bottle split with the wife. Pours deep dark amber with a milk chocolate head. Nose of massive chocolate, slight roast. Taste is slightly towards the sweet side o the scale. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate rounded out by a bit of wood. Body is thick and creamy. This beer is fuggin’ fantesicle. Forever ISO.

riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Super earthy strong peppery spicy cedar nose, light acrid roast and espresso, dominated by cedar. Viscuous black pours, nice brown pour. Cedar pepper earth some tangy lactic tartness then roasted dark espresso, dark fruit. Dry finish with an acrid roast, cedar, and light tartness. Strong assertive beer.
