I dug out my Cigar City Humidor Imperial Stout, which I believe was the 2009 bottling. Ive been looking forward to drinking this beer as a bottle of 2009 Marshall Zhukov was the best Imperial Stouts Ive ever had and I was not disappointed. Outstanding port/sherry aged character, hefty malt sweetness, dark chocolate truffles, fig and date and a big rich mouthfeel are very uniquely complimented by the cedar aging time. The cedar is at once both sharp and slightly savory, keeping the sweetness in check and spinning a fantastic beer in a really unique direction. Just really blown away by how awesome this beer is, and I have to say it ties with my previous 2009 Marshall Zhukov experience as Best Imperial Stout.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with medium frothy tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, smoke, cedar, toffee. Medium mouth, roasted malt, nice smoke, light cedar, boozy finish, very nice.

Another awesome grew from cigar city. Dark pour and tan head. Great imperial stout with coffee and roasted malts, both in aroma and flavor. The ideal part of this is the awesome Spanish cedar dimension! You all gotta try this brew.

Dark black pour... Thick viscous black pour, aroma of Spanish cedar, tobacco... Flavor is sweet with slightly soy notes, anise, licorice, chocolate... Decent, little too much soy ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black oily pour with very little carbonation. Complex aroma of bitter chocolate, roast malt, alcohol. The flavor is sweet and complex. Some bitterness and soy in the finish. Almost too much. Cedar didnt show up anywhere.

75cl, at 11%Vol, as Cigar City Humidor Series Imperial Stout, exclusive American brew, thx alot to Dirk for sharing!, very complex Stout, woody/spicy/roasted and slightly smoked/fruity, heavy, yet balanced, cloudy, small head, very good brew, Sadly, the cedar didnt add anything to the already wonderful Imperial Stout

"maybe if id tried this first in the Humidor line it woulda blew me away, but the heavy cedar aroma and flavor that were so great in that first ipa are starting to get repetitive. Still good, and the stout is a big enough beer to break through a little, but the cedar spice and smokiness could be scaled back a couple notches and this could be an elite beer. As it is, its still very good, and unique, but several points below the base beer."

Sweet and smoky aroma with an oily glass coating consistency. Lots of complexity from the cedar. Quite a tasty brew.
