This was one of my favorites that day. Aroma was great. Lots of rich roasted malts, cocoa, dark chocolate, pine, cedar, citrus, tobacco and some earthy hops. Flavor has all the above with a bit of sweetness, great full body, fairly complex but oh so drinkable. A faint spice character, maybe from the wood. Great.

Tap at BT. Pours a deep dark brown almost black with a tan head. Aroma is intense cigar box, spices, cedar, floral, dusty earthy dark chocolate, tobacco leaf clippings, cigar wrapper, lemon, citrus cedar oils, orange. Flavor is dark cigar wrapper, light fruit, chocolate malt, fruit, cedar oil, citrus, cigar box, musty dusty, tootsie roll, with a good full body yet dry earthy and woody- very nice!!

The aroma is strong cedar, some chocolaote getting through. The appearance is black, tan head. The flavor is cedar, roasty, chocolate. Medium in body. The finish is pine hops, cedar. Excellent, even if the cedar is slightly overpowering.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours dark brown with some tan head. Similar to the Jose Marti but with a very strong cedar / woody influence. The chocolate/roasty aroma is mellowed out a bit by the barrel aging. Light bitterness and some tannins from the barrel come out. Faint sweetness, very smooth with a pleasant finish of coffee and smoke.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a beautiful black with a puffy and rocky beige head. I love that cedar wood, pipe smoke, and roasted malt aroma. More great cedar in the flavor with plenty of roasted malt. Notes of cayenne pepper and chocolate as well. A touch of dark chocolate the quickly fades in favor of sharp cedar. <stands up and applauds>

On tap at the Blind Tiger during their Cigar City event. Pours a clear ruby brown with a thin white head. Cedar. Just utterly crazy cedar. Enough cedar that it spurred a conversation that made it to a point where zdk actually texted his grandma asking about cedar and she sure enough sent back a text talking about how she didn’t use it because she had no wool socks. Zach’s grandma is cool. Anyhow, besides the gorgeous cedar there’s a great amount of roast, char, and some gentle smoky malt. Huge body filled with big chocolate and chewy malt. Spicy cedar throughout leading into a big cedar finish that lingers for a while.

On tap at Blind Tiger with Joey Redner in the house. Pours a dark black color with a caramel colored head. Has a heavy oak aroma with a nice roastiness. Has a medium mouthfeel. Has a nice sweet start with nice roasty caramel flavor and a dry oak finish. The oakiness is strong from the barrel aging.
