Draft pour at Hunahpu’s Day 2016 (Tampa, FL). Pours a deeper dark blackish opaque hue. Darker and deep colors show a bit of midnight glow on the edges and bottom. A sizable cakey dark brown head on sits atop, stays as a decent layer and lacing. Aromas show some mellow oak, a brandy type appeal with vanillin, roast and toasty malts. Some jabs of firmer coffee, espresso, and bitter earth settle in. Gentle spiciness, vanilla, caramel. Initial is firmer bodied overall, a nice barrel presence cuts through some of the base with firm coffee, caramel, and Koppi type bitter and earthy appeal. A gentle spiciness seizes the day on the backend, mellow cinnamon and smoothed out vanilla, perhaps aided by the barrel presence here. The coffee addition is firm and bracing, giving a lot of presence without overwhelming. The barrel for me ends up more gentle and nuanced, but integrating well. Tasty stuff. knickskicks (1162) - - JAN 30, 2015
Backlog. Coffee, chocolate, cinammon, rum, booze. All over the place. Muddled and far inferior to regular Double Barrel Huna. burg326 (5482) - Florida, USA - JUN 26, 2014
Poured a dark black color with aromas of chocolate, booze, brandy, cinnamon, light pepper and coffee. Flavors aromas re the same nice coffee followed by some light heat from the peppers and finished strong with some brandy notes. Glad that I had a friend that let me try his. Thanks Pablo for looking out for me. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 18, 2014

Flavor was big fresh kopi, followed by cinnamon and heat, with a nice rum and brandy wash soaked in fudge great stuff.
