UPDATED: MAR 20, 2010 HOLY SHIT!! Black as night with a everlasting tan head. I’ve recycled lighter-colored used motor oil. Highly viscous, clingy and glazes the glass with a dark honey colored veil when swirled. Aroma is bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, roasty, fresh coffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is bourbon, alcohol, espresso, bitter chocolate and slightly spicy. EXTREMELY full, thick, oily, sticky, clingy mouthfeel. My notes indicate that I need more of this. UPDATED: MAR 20, 2010 The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is bourbon, oak, chocolate and pepper. The flavor is strong oak, chocolate and pepper, with the pepper being a little overpowering and giving a light burning sensation in the mouth. Thick mouthfeel and low-medium carbonation. Some hype, but this really is a damn solid beer. Pours with a large tan head that stays over a deep, inky black body. Glass coating. Aroma is minerally, chocolaty, raisins, a nice burn (both alcohol and pepper heat), vanilla and some bourbon. Taste is vanilla, cinnamon, mexican mole, chocolate, dry bourbon and wood notes, mexican coffee, pepper burn, but the alcohol is well hidden on the flavor. Syrupy mouthfeel. Would go well with a chocolate chip cookie! FSUScott (112) - Rome, Georgia, USA - MAR 19, 2010
Had this on tap at Cigar City. Beautiful black, opaque color. Definately get a bit of burbon in the nose, and a decent creamy aroma. Feels great in the mouth, and smooth going down. The bourbon isn’t readily noticed in the flavor, but more so in the heat going down. Great beer! bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - MAR 17, 2010
(Draught) Pours an opaque black body with a thick brown head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, roastiness, toasted coconut, and dark chocolate. Flavor of oak, chocolate, chilies, licorice, roasted malt, some caramel, and bourbon with a dry, bitter finish. Excellent!

Very similar to the regular but with a good amount of bourbon in the nose. Stings the nostrils. Seem to have a bit more alcohol burn at the finish. Great beer at a great event. Thanks Cigar City!!! argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 15, 2010
Draft. Large brown head atop black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, Bourbon/vanilla, some chocolate, grape. Taste is moderately sweet, Bourbon/vanilla, some alcohol, chocolate, light grape, mango, pepper. Medium-full body, light alcohol burn. djtimeless (222) - Colorado, USA - MAR 15, 2010
Pours out black with some brown head. Big chocolate and bourbon taste. A great treatment to a very good stout. Would like to get this in a bottle. corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 12, 2010
UPDATED: MAR 14, 2010 Pours pitch black and completely opaque without even the faintest hint of lighter color when held to a light source. Two finger frothy dark chocolate mocha head with excellent retention, only slowly fading into a thick lasting ring that leaves sporadic spots of lacing behind.
Sweet bourbon aroma that isn’t overpowering allowing the roasted malt, sweet chocolate and cinnamon spicy chilli peppers. There’s also some earthy oak and vanilla notes.
Flavor similar to aroma with a lot more pepper spice than the nose leads on. Lots of silky sweet chocolate malts, slightly roasted coffee and spicy cinnamon peppers. Like the nose, there is a nice earthy oak and vanilla flavor that balances things out nicely. This beer is perhaps to balanced and the bourbon takes away from the spicy chili notes from the base beer. This flavor does become more prominent as it warms. Deceivably drinkable. Dark rich pour, thin dark tan head. Chocolate aroma, slight spice, moderate bourbon presence. The barrel adds a nice oaky touch to the base beer. Excellent.
