Bottle split at Madmitch76 20K tasting, big thanks to Mitch himself, 15/01/16. Pitch black with a big ole dirty tan covering. Nose is rich roast, spice, bourbon infuse - pretty subtle on this front, dark fruit rinds, light coconut shavings. Taste comprises dark chocolate, spice, trace of peppermint, Bounty Bar, black pepper, light spice, dark fruit melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close. Solid impy action but not top draw for me.

75cl bottle shared at Kenny’s 20K celebrations @Chriso’s, thanks to Kenny. It pours a deep dark brown color with a medium brown head. Aroma is big sweet bold boozy with a hell lot of bourbon vanilla chocolate molasses and raisins. Taste is crazy bold sweet with loads of coconut dark chocolate vanilla and rum. Medium to full bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, extremely intense

Bottle share at Kenny’s supreme 20K tasting - many thanks to Ken for sharing this and the other special beers. As ’Cigar City Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout - BBA’, green wax. Black, small foamy brown head, dotted lacing. Aroma is spicy bourbon, red pepper, cinnamon, woody, oak, meaty soy sauce. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, bourbon coconut, cinnamon, a little chili, dry salty finish. Tastes pretty nice, if a bit sweet. Like a lot of American-style imperial stouts, the smell is a bit meaty and harsh. Overall, a nice one. Thanks for sharing Kenny!

Bottle at Madmitch 20k tasting. Black beer lasting tan head. Soy sauce and coconut. Dark chocolate bounty. Good coconut. Fairly Tasty As It Settles Down. Feel the quality. I thought it was excellent. Some heat.

Bottle during RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours a dark brown with thick creamy tan head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, bourbon, dark fruit. Slick mouthfeel with nice dark fruit, cocoa, roast, rich malts, nice booze, really enjoyed this one!

Bottle - pours dark black with tan head. Bourbon, oak, vanilla, cinnamon and spice in the nose. The taste is chocolate with slight cinnamon. Spice has greatly faded but its still tasty.

A little bit overrated for my liking, I’ve always thought the bourbon hides a lot of the qualities that make Hunahpu into such a unique beer. The texture is still there but the nose is much boozier and the beer is just too sweet for my liking. A good BA Stout by almost anyone’s standards, but definitely inferior to other Hunahpu versions.
